Under new management, a warm welcome and nice decor, good selection of beers and wines with pleasent staff, they should be doing food soon and now letting dogs in . There are also letting rooms, definitely worth a visit.

Good, hearty pub food, friendly staff, fair prices.

Visited the pub for as evening meal while staying nearby at the Mercure hotel. It looks very modern inside and had clearly been renovated recently. The menu was not extensive but plenty for all tastes and all was well priced. I had the prime steak which at £10.95 was good value. However, when served it was not cooked to medium as requested and more like well done. The pint of real Bass ale which was lovely helped it down though.

What a place, absolutely brilliant, lovely little country pub with great staff, and friendly customers too, we were made to feel welcome as soon as we set foot in the door, it was clean and tidy and warm too, the food was good and plentiful, and the beer/cider was clean and crisp. The room we stayed in had a lovely comfortable bed and all the amenities we wanted (one very small criticism, no socket to plug a phone charger in, apart from one high up on the wall which has the TV plugged in). If we come back that way we will definitely go there. Highly recommend the Unicorn

An altogether fantastic place to stay. This was a last minute booking and it turned out to be just perfect, so much so that the people we were meeting in Burton-on-Trent, our daughter and her partner, ended up having dinner and breakfast with us at The Unicorn Inn. Emma is a true gem in every sense of the word, her welcome is warm and genuine, her pub is just so cosy, the food is excellent, the beer and wine selection well thought out and the prices don't make you feel like you have been robbed. We stayed in Room 5, annexed from the main building, it was warm, clean, and included hospitality tray, en-suite, telly and a comfortable bed. All of this is complimented by on-site free car-parking. Will we stay again? You can be sure we will!

What an absolute gem of a place. Very friendly and welcoming atmosphere .The accommodation was clean and comfortable with everything you need for a couple of nights stay. The food was freshly prepared and beautifully cooked with very friendly and attentive staff. I would happily stay here again.

Loved our visit to the Unicorn. The staff were extremely accomadating and friendly. We ate breakfast and dinner at the Unicorn and were not disappointed. The food was fantastic quality and all home cooked and the prices were also great value for money. I would recommend a stay here.

A great village pub, we visited both nights on our 2 night stay vacation. Both meals were lovely, good size portions and tasty food, the pub is very clean and covid safe. The waiter was excellent at his job, didn't have to wait long to take our orders and deliver our food. The only reason i didn't give it 5 stars was the choice in beer, but that's a personal choice and i believe there's a national ordering issues regarding beer supplies. We had 2 great nights here.
