Outstanding. Why haven’t I been here before? Charming old building with great features. Friendly staff, traditional tasty menu including bangers and mash from Pinchin’s Farm Shop. Recommended!!!!’

Our first time and we felt like regulars! Relaxed and amazingly welcoming family owners - thank you! And the food - wow! The extremely talented & versatile chef delivers delicious choices, from locally sourced ingredients (locally meaning literally just ‘up the road’). We could taste the quality & freshness of the fish, & the salmon was cooked exactly as requested. Just a shame we were too full to try the desserts - next time for sure!

The landlady very friendly and the young girl who was serving us was very polite and friendly. Food was hot and well presented and portion size well worth the money. Would throughly recommend the Sunday lunch. Well worth the visit.

Really is worth taking a trip out from light lunch to a special celebration you really won't be disappointed

We have just had our second meal in The Black Horse in these past few weeks, and we have thoroughly enjoyed the atmosphere and food both times. The old Inn is very old with lots of character and the feeling of what pubs used to be like. The food is exquisite. We have eaten during a week evening and had a Sunday lunch. The Sunday roast is worth having with plenty of options: beef, chicken, pork, salmon and a veggie option to cover everyone's tastes. We have already booked up to visit again. What a treasure to have this pub so close to Gosberton and Spalding.

It's the first time here for us.. The staff was brilliant ( there was only two ladies) they put us on a table not near many people.. which is just what I wanted.. what could I say about the food...... it was absolutely fantastic!!! Wished I'd taken a photo of it.. the plate came with roast potatoes mashed potatoes Yorkshire pudding meat and gravy.... We had a share a bowl of vegetables... mangetout suede cauliflower Calabrese carrots and cabbage.... with a jug of more gravy... some of the vegetables could be cooked a little bit more!!! ... once again the staff was brilliant !!!I would recommend you take a meal here... it was £27.50 for two Sunday lunch... 😊

Great modern menu using local produce. All of the food was cooked to perfection. In particular the duck main course was superb. Friendly but not overbearing service, couldn't fault the whole experience.

Anniversary meal out. Truly fantastic food. Locally sourced and all home cooked. Left a full review on trip advisor. A great English country pub serving a wonderful range of well presented food. Highly recommended.

1st time eating here for late Birthday Meal, both myself and Husband very impressed. Both had steaks, both cooked to our liking. Staff very attentive and helpful. Puddings were fab as well too. Will definitely return.
