The Golden Lion in South Holland

I was there for a friend's 40th birthday. The atmosphere was great, nice local pub. The kitchen produced a wonderful spread - chunky chips, a personal favourite. A plethora of gins and mixers - another win for me! The staff were a real team, creating a comfortable vibe. Really helpful 👌

The Golden Lion runs the best Sunday lunch carvery around here. The covid precautions are well established. There is a choice of 3 meats, or have 2, or all of them. The Yorkshires and roasties lovely and crispy, the accompanying veggies delightful. Need I mention the pudds? All sampled the Sunday before lockdown.

Carvery was ok, nothing amazing but good value. Service with a smile, or any kind of interaction from the bar man would have been nice! You work in a customer service environment, learn some customer service skills!

Excellent food at reasonable price. Staff excellent and service with a smile. Good village pub. Not many like this about these days. Well worth a visit..

Had the Sunday Carvery and dessert. Food was very good, lovely dinner and home made dessert. Nice comfortable surroundings. Would definitely recommend this pub for Sunday dinner.

Very busy at Sunday lunchtime. Had to park a way down the road. Waited 45 mins for our 'booked' table, served efficiently at the well stocked carvery. Staff were friendly if very busy keeping up. Wait did not bother us, food was of adequate standard. Price seemed a little high for Spalding area but as a treat it was acceptable.

Lovely friendly place to enjoy a quiet drink....landlady and landlord very pleasant. ..we've yet to eat here but we've heard excellent feedback regards to their Sunday lunch. ..well worth a visit if your in the area.
