The Tulip Queen by Marstons Inn in South Holland

We haven't been for a meal since a few months after you opened as we had a few bad experiences mainly due to me being gluten free. Decided today to go and try it once more. What an amazing transformation from our last visits. The staff were extremely polite and helpful. There was no shortage of staff which is unusual these days. I had a cavery which was excellent as I usually struggle, as I am dairy and gluten free. No problem at all as the chef was able to tell me what was gluten and dairy free. I could even have the gravy which was gluten free. We will certainly be returning in the next few weeks. Well done. Thank you for an enjoyable meal.

Lovely quiet Saturday afternoon. Great value for money. Husbands eyes-bigger-than-belly carvery nearly floored him so he was really happy. Will definitely be back. Puddings were really good too...see Toffee Waffle below

We had Sunday lunch after booking online, which was really easy to do. Always find the staff really friendly. We have held several gathering for special birthday's there & they always look after us!.😊 We have also had relatives stay overnight & have breakfast there in the morning. They have mentioned the serve is also very good. We have booked 2 more gatherings for later this year too, as everyone seems to have a good time! 😊

We had two carvery and a veggie option carvery vegetables were like warm. Man serving us the meat was very abrupt. We also had the lemon meringue which was delicious and worth the money the size was good.

£32.00 for two massive burgers and two pints. Tasted really good too. Strongly recommend a visit.

Had a great lunchtime stop off here whilst cycling round the local area. Inside is nice and clean, staff were really friendly and the food is pretty tasty too!

Initial impression of the room was good, had dinner in the hotel Which was also decent.Unfortunately in the evening it became apparent that our room was opposite a guest room where people from the traveling community where staying.Not only did they seem to have trouble reading bedroom numbers (knocking on are room numerous times).But they also felt it acceptable to treat the corridors as a playground for their swarms of kids banging doors etc, and having full blown arguments at 2 o clock in the morning.A real shame, had it not been for them stay would have been perfect.

We have been coming to the Tulip on a fairly regular basis since you opened. Every visit has been enjoyed, food has always been very good and most definitely value for money. But most of all I must compliment you on your staff. Always a smile, attentive and very pleasant. 2 instances I would draw your attention to. Pre pandemic I visited with friends one of whom had persistent cough. One of your bar staff noticed and came over with a glass on iced water. So kind and much appreciated. Another time we visited and there were issues in the kitchen. Not sure if it was a staff issue or that the ovens were not working. Right away we were offered a choice and selection of starters, for a very reasonable price which we all enjoyed. We look forward to our next visit.

We had a friendly welcome, the room was warm and comfortable. Fantastic choice of food and didn’t feel rushed to either choose or leave. I had the steak which was cooked to perfection, tasty and hot. I have to have the apple pie every time it’s just delicious. Will be back again soon. Thankyou

Do a lovely carvery here and desserts… only criticism the staff tried turning us away said the wait for a table was nearly an hour.. we waited and was seated in 10 minutes. There was plenty of tables just a lot of faffing about…
