Came in here one lunchtime with my mum and a couple of friends and was pleasantly surprised. We had a very warm welcome from Jamie and nothing was too much trouble. The food was great too and a reasonable price.

Nice atmosphere, not too crowded and reasonably priced. Location is a bonus as well - it is in town centre in close proximity to everything you need.

On a work night out for managers leaving do, I was only drinking water because I was driving. Stood and watched my friends play pool and the DEPUTY manager asks me for ID I wasnt drinking alcohol. After saying I dont have I'd and I'm on water he gets aggressive with me and my manager calling him names ... never would I go there again

I’ve only just moved to Grantham, but I’ll tell you what, The Black dog is the place to be! Staff Always outgoing to do their best. Definitely recommend the food. Also Cask Ale On point !

Beer taste watered down , like a youth club and drugs forever prominent in this pub. Staff issues they seem to think they are king. When in reality just a manger of a bog standard pub. Hygeine of the place certainly aint anything to rave about.

Had Sunday Lunch here for the first time and have to say it was excellent , great value and cooked perfectly , good food , friendly staff and a good atmosphere , everything you need from a local, we will be back next week.

Food was really good and arrived hot. All requests for preferences and extras/substitutes were catered for. Staff were friendly, smart and kept us informed of wait time etc for our food. Wheelchair user with us was made comfortable. The ambience of the place was lovely, warm and clean. Could not fault anything at all.

Saturday night at 8.55pm, they stopped serving food and when we asked for one of the special drinks from the special winter warmers advertised on all the tables they said they had none of the syrups to make them :(Dog friendly and fairly priced, which made up for the food and drinks disappointment.
