The service was very good, lovely staff. Food was good also.

Brilliant atmosphere and the food was amazing. 10/10. Will be visiting very soon .... Give the castle 🏰 inn a try you will not be disappointed

Booked Sunday lunch and was offered vegetable Wellington because we're vegetarian.. when the food arrived, the roast potatoes were dry and undercooked and the Yorkshire puddings burned. Very little veg on plate but a bowl of Cauliflower cheese was delivered. As we were vegie couldn't eat the meat gravy so were offered mushroom sauce that was tasty but made the meal feel dry and claggy. Pub was very cold, log fire not lit.

Wonderful pub, lovely landlord and lady very friendly pub. The pantry is very well stocked and nothing is to much trouble.

We moved to the village a week ago, and already this place is featuring very highly - the pantry has had everything we need so far, including top rate homemade scotch eggs and sausage rolls, and the pub is a delight with great ale and decent wine. Really friendly, great service and produce. Highly recommended, no complaints.

I love this pub. It has a fantastic atmosphere and is a great classic village pub. With warm fires and friendly smiles from Sue and Will, I miss popping in for a pint. They have a lovely pantry that they’ve opened to during COVID and serve great take aways too.All round the quintessential English pub. Good food, great atmosphere and lovely people who run it. Bring on the end of COVID when we can go back there and enjoy a quality pint amongst lovely people.Cannot recommend highly enough!

Lovely village pub with great beer and fab food. Parsnip puree was divine though the partridge was a shade over done. But the ginger sponge made up for it. Light as a cloud with lovely sticky ginger sauce and generous jug of cream. All in all great place to visit.

Went for Sunday lunch here and it was fantastic. You could tell there was so much thought into every part of the dish. The beautifully cooked sirloin of beef with the creamy delicate leeks in sauce. Possibly the best roast potatoes I have had including ones cooked at home for a small group. The chef clearly cares as there were so many elements I could mention that made the dish into what it was. An absolute pleasure I would highly recommend and will no doubt be coming back.

What a unexpected beautiful pub. Friendly land lord, good selection of beer, happy friendly and welcoming atmosphere as we entered by customers and staff as well as pip, the pub dog.Food was good classic dishes but cooked to perfection.Would highly recommend and would definitely visit again if I was in the area
