I ordered a takeaway from here , when I got there to pick it up only half the poppadoms were there although they quickly rectified this , but when I got home I was short of a mushroom rice , I rang up to complain and it turns out somebody had written the order down wrong , so I had one rice to share between Three people . I will never use this restaurant again and start using Shalimar instead ……. NOT HAPPY

The member of staff working was amazing and really helpful. Only thing I would say needs improving is ordering. Not everyone wants to order starters and mains together, but the young girl didn't put the starters through and kept coming back to get our mains order.

Have been going to Montaz for years and has always been good but tonite the service for the main courses was appalling. We also had to remind them that we had ordered naan breads and son had to change his order for sea bass as it wasn't "defrosted"We may try somewhere else next time.

Had a wonderful take away Indian meal in Jan 2022. We have been having meals from them for decades and always a Notch above the rest.

Service was OK, food was so so at best. The meat based meals ( curries) seemed to be comprised of a flavoured "gravy" with meat ( I'm pretty sure the chicken was reclaimed) added afterwards. What didn't help to the atmosphere was the temperature, it was freezing and extremely draughty, I had to eat with my outside jacket on.Additionally they don't deserve coffee or draught beer but the only saving grace were the week chilled Cobra beers. It's probably OK for a post pub meal but not when taste buds are fully engaged. Sorry but this is not the Mumtaz I visited many years ago.

Absolutely appalling.restaurant freezing cold.no napkins.on order apparently, then cheap paper ones arrived on our table.Guinness on the drinks menu, but don’t serve it,food served in small cerial bowls, far to expensive for the service and quality of food received, ask for desert menu for our grandson, but to be told they don’t do deserts..please avoid is a must.had to go and ask for drinks as waitor service was rubbish.we was 1st in the restaurant and seemed to get served last.gap between popadoms to main meal was at least 45 minutes..never again

Last minute date night with my wife, decided on Montaz as they had a 5 star hygiene rating. We were welcomed and seated straight away with a choice of 2 tables. We sat down and offered drinks and food menus, after we were given our drinks about 10 minutes minutes in, we realised the door upstairs was ajar and a cold draught was blowing down the stairs, it wasn't an arctic blast but noticeable, our starters arrived and I can say the chicken pakora was very tasty.I stuck to my go to main of chicken tikka masala and pilau rice, the sauce was creamy and delicious. My wife had Lamb Biriany, it had a plentiful amount of rice, the only thing she was not keen on was the vegetables, she said that they felt frozen in the middle....The service was good and will definitely be returning soon.

Amazing food and amazing service. I was there for a family get together. I have to say the owner and the staff were exceptional. The food was authentic and full of flavours. I highly recommend this place. 👌
