The Gregory in South Kesteven

Spent many an evening there sharing drinks with friends. The owner, staff, and locals were always very accommodating to a bunch of rowdy American kids. As the official starting point of the naked mile, it will forever live in my memory.

Good service , food was lovely ,large portions. Really enjoyed our meals .

Went for birthday meal. Although the service was faultless the food was awful. My husbands steak was inedible due to blood coming out of it plus tough, chewy and sinewy. My steak was also tough and chewy but so hungry ate it. We asked for medium but both steaks came out rare.The portion size for the sauce was not good value for the price. Can you believe one mushroom, and half a tomartoe plus a sprinkling of rocket was all you get with a small portion of chips. Not good value at all. The pudding choice was reduced my first choice was not available. The only saving grace was the staff and the fact we were not charged for one steak. However still charged for the sauce even though it could not be put on the meat!! Terrible will not eat there again do not recommend.

Nice friendly pub with decent food. Dogs welcome in bar area. Big comfy sofas to sit on while enjoying your pint or glass of wine.

Always very welcoming, food is always good and a good selection of ales at the bar. Love the open fire in the centre of the seating, its a really nice addition and really puts the heat out if you're sat close by!

Super attentive staff. Pleased with the room, clean, quiet and comfy without being too hot. Wonderful shower. Goooood food. Couldn't fault.

Lovly quiet place , need a little TLC as Reno is missing few bits of maintenance, had a lovly room with bath , heating was broke but was a little electric fire wich I thought god we’re going to be. Old but was ample and warm , so not a prob for us , but was very cold in pub , although did have. An amazing open fire , had to sit in coats , staff very helpful and polite , won’t need to go back again but some may be disappointed,

Had Sunday dinner here (late afternoon). Food was absolutely delicious - based on that alone we would, without question, visit again. Pub has a very homely feel - the log fire really was wonderful on a cold winters afternoon. Staff were friendly, however, service was very slow - we were sat waiting for plates to be cleared for over half an hour - had to ask someone if we could order deserts.On the whole a lovely dinner.

Liked this pub. Good welcome, drinks good quality and reasonable price, friendly staff. Good seating area. Will have to return for the food

We stay here whenever we go to the Newark Antiques Fair. The hotel is well sited for our journey back south to home. They always make us feel welcome. This time we had my 85 yr old Dad with us. The rooms are clean, great bed! and well appointed. We ate there one evening and breakfast and the food is delicious, well cooked and plenty of it. Always a great stay. All I would say is that the coffee making facilities in the room, for me, were complicated and fangled and although I was in need of a coffee, was unable to operate the machine. Would it be possible to just have a kettle and coffee sachets? Overall though, a great stay as usual. Many thanks.
