The Stag in South Kesteven

We were staying at a caravan site not far from The Stag, we called in to see if we could get a table, but they were already booked up for that day. The hostess said that she could get us in for 5.30 the following evening. We really wanted a table for around 7.30, but decided that if it was that busy it must be good. We were not disappointed, the menu was very comprehensive, with meals you wouldn't expect to find on a village pub menu. I had the venison steak , my wife ordered the chicken scallops. Both meals were absolutely delicious we were so glad we booked it ! The staff were very welcoming and helpful , very pleasant people. The decor was simple, but very well done, a very pleasant atmosphere!We will definitely be back the next time we stay in the area with our touring caravan.

The food was amazing. The food lived up to the hype which was good to experience. The staff were also caring and helpful and we have booked in again soon. We had sandwiches, soup and sides.

Fabulous food - we all (party of 9) with 4 dogs had an amazing Sunday Lunch. Staff efficient friendly and helpful. Very dog friendly. So good we have booked for evening meal also. Highly recommended

An old fashioned feel to the bar. Dog friendly pub with welcoming staff.Good menu and quality of food we ordered was excellent. Made to feel very much at home. Good woodburner gave a warm atmosphere on a very cold day.Good choice of well kept ales.Will definitely return.

I have been here many times, and never ever have I regretted it. The food is always top notch, piping hot, flavoursome and best of all..... Plenty of it! This place does not scrimp on the portions.The staff are always attentive and happy to help!The only downside to this pub is the difficulty rating at getting into it! Be prepared to book well in advance to risk disappointment. However obviously this is still a positive and you after eating here you can see why!One of my top restaurants/pubs to dine with. Will always return.

Our group of 4 went for an early evening meal. Our table was in the restaurant but there are also tables in the bar and conservatory. Friendly attentive and quick service. The food was superb and a good selection. Will definitely be going back.

Good quality food which is well presented and tasty, with prompt and efficient service, and fair prices. It's been a good few years since we have been to The Stag (under former owners I think) but if this last visit was anything to go by, we will be sure to come back soon.

Lovely Christmas menu. Very prompt service despite us being a large party. Catered well for gluten free and vegan. Friendly staff and warm atmosphere, good food, and in huge portions. We were all very full and content 😍

Service was superb! All team members were attentive, friendly and had a good sense of humour. Food came out in good time and we never felt we were waiting at all. We all enjoyed the food as it tasted fresh and homemade .. faultless!! We would certainly return if only we didn’t live 200 miles away! 😊
