We had an anniversary party at the William Cecil on the 19th of March, and the whole experience from booking onwards was excellent. We had a lovely room for the party, with an excellent buffet (more than enough for all of our guests). We stayed in a fantastic room and had a great breakfast. The hotel and its surroundings are beautiful, the staff are excellent, and we had a fantastic day

Corking old historic hotel. Splendid place with a great big park to wander about in next door. Very close to the town centre too.I was at the hotel for a friend's celebration. We had a delicious buffet lunch with superb variety of foods.Staff were lovely and always helpful. My room was high up on a third floor - sort of attic room and extremely quiet, cosy and comfortable. red hot bath water to soak in!Breakfast was extremely good. Parking was free and part of the hotel.I'd like to visit again. oh and in the town centre there's a brilliant Chinese restaurant !

The food was wonderful and the staff are superb. My son took his little dog and was made to feel more than welcome. We will be back to Stamford and will definitely stay overnight at this high quality hotel, I was surprised at how lovely Stamford is, and just how historical it is.

What a charm in Stamford. Thoroughly enjoyed our valentine stay here over the weekend. The dinner was delicious, drinks, surroundings all great. First class service, the room was big and comfortable. Good night's sleep. The bathrooms a little dated but functional. Clean, tidy. Maybe a bit haunted? 👻 Breakfast was perfect the next morning. Comfortable and pleasant stay. Will definitely be back.

Absolutely incredible traditional afternoon tea. First, the atmosphere is so lovely. It felt both fanciful while maintaining a cozy inviting air to it. The tea itself was perfectly brewed. The cakes and sandwiches were a mix of just simple traditional flavors and interesting layers like passion fruit toppings so there was something for everyone. You'd think it would look light but it's quite the filling meal we didn't even eat dinner that evening. Staff were courteous and professional. Overall, this was extremely well done and I was glad this was recommended to us!

Attended a family event at the hotel and it was excellent all round. Staff were fantastic, helpful, accommodating and always with a smile. They really made the day. Food was superb, the roast beef was sublime and the Yorkshire pudding was enormous!Highly recommended

The William Cecil is a wonderful hotel. We fell in love with it on arrival. The room was perfect and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The cooked breakfast was excellent. We would definitely stay there again. The hotel has a huge car park and is only a five minute walk into the centre of Stamford.

I attended a wedding here and we all had a fantastic day. The staff were very attentive and accommodating. The food was of a high standard and it's a lovely location. I didn't stay over, friends said the rooms all vary in size and facilities, goes with an old building. No complaints from them so far. Well presented and managed venue, I would definitely consider it if I needed a get together in the Stamford area. Ten minute walk into the large attractive town centre with river, old architecture and subtly accommodated modern retail outlets. Good stuff.
