Where is Thorold Arms?

🏠 Main St, Marston, Grantham NG32 2HH

"The Thorold (formerly The Thorold Arms) is a rural pub in the Lincolnshire village of Marston. It is a Free House with Rooms, a Restaurant, Café, and a village Shop. Fully refurbished, after a long period closed, it reopened in November 2019 as a community-owned business offering family-friendly hospitality with great eats and drinks. Well-behaved dogs (and people!) are welcome and the pub has a lovely beer garden."

How very refreshing that having left a message before opening hours for somebody to call me back and book a table that not only did Paul (landlord/owner/chef!) do that but made the effort on a second number after leaving a message on my mobile. So, the Thorold Arms is lovely. A real relaxing atmosphere with a great menu and wine list. We were spoilt for choice which is always a good start and then the food we had was amazing! Loved every mouthful. So well done Paul. We will be back for more for sure.

OK, so I've spent years living in London and around the world, eating out every chance I can and yet rarely reviewed the restaurants I've dined. But today, for my wife's 50th Birthday, we had a small party/lunch at the Thorold Arms. Yes the village is charming and the pub is quite delightful. But boy, the food, well its simply exceptional. Its going to rival those high end restaurants you'll find in London, but you're not going to pay London prices. Paul and his team make you feel welcome right from the very start. All I can say is a huge thank you, we'll be back very very soon!

Interesting little pub/restaurant, tucked away in a charming village. Friendly place. We didn't eat, but the food looked very good and the menu was tempting.

Lovely food and lovely decor. Pie and chips was lovely. Chunky chips would be a better match than fries. Great sticky toffee pudding. Lime and soda, good proportions.

Under the new management of Paul Vidic & Lisa, the menu and food is excellent! Wine selection is the best its ever been, with nice beer choices on offer. Beautifully re-decorated, friendly relaxed atmosphere, and superb service. Highly recommended.
