"A small, family run, vintage tearoom. Take a step back in time to the 1940s and enjoy the wartime surroundings. Fresh homemade food served from 9:30am til 3:30pm, specials are served between 12pm and 2pm. Afternoon teas are available (must be prebooked) and fresh homemade cakes are served daily if you fancy a cuppa and cake. We also have a lite bites menu and all day breakfast available everyday. Having a hen do? Christening? Family gathering? Petticoats can also cater for private functions, just give us a call to discuss your needs."

Absolutely amazing! Had the afternoon tea- four people with four different dietary requirements and nothing was too much trouble. Portions were huge and the food was delicious! Will definitely be back!

Always first class service, the food is beautiful (the omlettes are amazing) and the choice of wonderfully made cakes is definitely worth repeating the visit.Staff are polite and friendly, so a lovely atmosphere with background music playing older tunes, like today was of Dirty Dancing and The Beatles and the lovely older period decor.The bonus stamp card for repeat business is a lovely incentive, an overall lovely visit every time, our only go to meeting place now enjoyed by me my sisters 🙂🍽☕🍰

1st time to this lovely place staff Very pleasant and helpful food was delicious to much to eat had to take top plate of cake's home with us . Had the afternoon tea for two with unlimited tea or coffee to drink. very nice surrounding clean and a joy to visit will return.

I've always enjoyed eating at Petticoats, great food, lovely staff, so knew exactly where to get an afternoon tea when I had to isolate. They didn't disappoint. The freshest sandwiches with exquisite fillings, piping hot freshly baked scones and delicious cakes, ready and waiting for my husband to collect😋😋 Looking forward to isolation ending so I can visit again in person

A little gem tucked away in the town centre. What a lovely treat their vintage afternoon is ! A generous serving of sandwiches and you get to choose up to 3 filings , 2 slices of normal size cakes iand a big fat scrumptious scone with jam & clotted cream , macaroons, cupcake and endless rounds of tea or coffee. And the service is faultless , the staff could not do more to help you! You must try this out for yourself to appreciate it. They also have a wide selection on their menu for lunch etc. Thank you, worth the extra weight I’ll be carrying before my holiday at the weekend !

Enjoyed a lovely roast pork dinner and a heavenly, warm chocolate brownie with vanilla ice cream for dessert! 😍 tucked into my food before I could take a photo 🙈 but we enjoyed a nice cup of tea after our meal. The atmosphere is lovely here, vintage feel, vintage music, even the waitresses are dressed in vintage attire! Lovely afternoon, will definitely be returning. Thank you Petticoats xx
