Bar Encore in South Northamptonshire

Beautiful location with lovely view and friendly staff. Ate outside as it was a nice day and stayed for a few drinks afterwards. The chorizo and prawn skewers were amazing with large prawns and a lovely chickpea salad on the side. There was always somebody around, clearing tables in time for more customers to arrive which was good as you didn’t have to walk up the garden to the bar to ask a question. Staff behind the bar were very friendly and smiley which was an added bonus as it can be difficult to stay positive when the weather is as hot as it was!

100% would recommend - stayed here and the service from start to finish was exquisite. Every time I’ve been, the staff have been so friendly and helpful, and the food is fantastic. Huge credit to the chef and the rest of the staff, it’s a great restaurant. Excellent location as well with it being right on the canal - whether you’re there for a drink, a meal, or staying there, you won’t be disappointed! Will definitely be returning!

Stopped off for a drink whilst on a narrowboat. Would've considered a meal but not impressed. No mooring near the pub as the land belongs to next door (perhaps the owners have fallen out? Who knows? But very confusing because there's a gate and a sign on the land). Really busy road (huge contrast to the sedate canal life we'd been experiencing) and had to walk alongside to get to the entrance. Very confusing front entrance with 'Private' on the door you can see... bar door to the right, but no sign...Waited and waited and waited to be served. Staff clearly saw us but ignored us because it wasn't their job to serve drinks (or even acknowledge us by the looks of one of them who was clearing plates with a face like a wet weekend).Eventually served by a friendly member of staff.Decided not to eat there, just take our drinks out to the beer garden... sadly has seen better days... we were actually glad to leave.Someone really needs to tidy this place up and concentrate on welcoming customer service.Sorry, but that's how it is.

Terrible!! Real shame used to come here all the time. Day one of the jubilee weekend. And was greeted by a 15/20 minute queue for a drink. They weren’t even busy!! Baking hot bar area ( no AC) there was one lady serving at the bar and tbh, she didn’t look like she even wanted to be there. Real shame used to love this place. If it wasn’t for the river and the location this place would of gone under years ago I think. All in all a really bad visit. 2 of our party where given glasses of Pepsi in filthy glasses. The benches out the back where basically falling apart and rotting away. Every other establishment has had a bit of a make over; or at least a freshen up and a decorate. !! Not this place!! Honestly go elsewhere they don’t deserve your hard to earned money !! Really really poor!! NOTICE THE OWNER NEVER RESPONDS!! We can’t all be lying

Three of us needed a break from traveling south on the M1. We found this pub by chance. Business was steady and we ordered two lamb steaks and one fish and chips. We had J2O for drinks. The meal was delicious and the portions were large. The service was professional and quick. The service staff polite and attentive. A very good establishment to break a long journey on the motorway.

My partner and I visited this pub on Sunday 1st May for some lunch. The food was delicious but the service wasn't very good. We were waiting for over 40 minutes for our food and we had to go up to the bar to order our drinks as nobody came to us. A few of the waiters are new and apologised for not knowing certain items on the menu. However when leaving they were moaning about the fact it was busy and that they didn't want to deal with all the customers!This place is usually good however they do have moments when it's not great and today was one of those days unfortunately.

Had a couple of really fantastic meals in here. The sirloin on the bone was so good we went back the next day for another! Cooked to perfection. Dog friendly a real bonus too. Staff friendly except for one sourpuss waitress. Can thoroughly recommend.

We attended the NarrowBoat on Mother’s Day, had a fantastic meal. Olivia our waitress was very friendly, attentive and nothing was too much. We were told when we sat down that we had 2 hours for our meal but we were only a table if 3 and although we hadn’t finished our coffees we were moved into the bar area to finish. The pub was very busy and will be returning.

Visited the NarrowBoat at weedon on Mother’s Day and left very satisfied!The restaurant was very busy with most, if not all tables in use. This being said we were greeted politely and seated very quickly to the table we booked. All the staff members working were very friendly and polite even though they were all rushed off their feet! Our waitress was very attentive and couldn’t do enough for us! Our meals were faultless! The roasts were impeccable and the Yorkshire puddings were impressive! Will definitely be coming back soon!

Lovely pub, very accommodating to 24 of us! Food was to a high standard, good selection of drinks and live music on Sat night was added bonus. Friendly staff made it extra special. Cheese boards were also delicious!
