Hong Kong Chef in South Northamptonshire

If I could leave a review with zero I would. Absolutely awful service. Didn't even deliver our food.waited for hours and they kept saying it was on its way. Stay away from this place.

Food quality is underwhelming. Had a chilli squid and its just over coated in flour and tasteles covered in loads of raw thick cut onion. Chicken fried rice is plain and lacks flavour and the Malaysian beef was over flavoured with either oyster or squid sauce which was over powering and made the dish taste of fish. Last time we order from there .

Tasteless food. Had not one drop of seasoning in it. The meats in the chow mein were dry and tasteless. The deep friends prawns were okay.

i would say that this place has some nice things but it is a bit overpriced by what they give you the chips are drowned in salt and the time it takes just to make chips or onion rings is bad other than that its a decent place but there are a lot better chinese shops around and the chicken nuggets are a meh and this placer gives you a dodge tummy.

CHECK ON LINE.The owner must be a millionaire because they obviously don't need the money.No business sense what so ever.Its quite simple fresh good food =lots of customers and money.Disgusting food= no customers less money.Because of location they would be in high demand but they can't even produce nice chips.The chips are the worst I have ever had dirty oil(tasted like animal fat to me).They haven't learnt a thing in years.Twice in two years is enough for me never again. I have to drive 6 miles for decent chips now but still worth it.

lovely staff and orders are always made quickly. food is delicious in our opinion...I could live of their chicken balls! The chip shops a bit of a let down though, I think the prices are too high and £1 to pay via card is a rip off..especially when the food looks like it's been there for a good while and the chips aren't always that nice but the Chinese I can't fault it!

Tried this takeaway for the first time since moving into the area. Very disappointing.Chips were stiff and firm and needed more salt and vinegar. You could break the chips in half and the texture was almost like old, cold chips. They didn’t have the squidgy texture of fresh chips.The fish (cod) was bland. The batter was under-cooked - sloppy and also lacked any flavour. Totally missing the usual rich, sweet taste of batter.Overall, rather tasteless.

Ordered specifically from the vegetarian section of the menu and found a prawn when I was half way through my chow mein. Cross contamination isn't difficult to avoid, pure laziness. Their food is seriously bland too, don't bother.

Ordered a takeaway the other night and was told it would be 20 minutes, 40 minutes later I ask where it is an 1 hour and 10 minutes later it finally arrives stone cold to be told "sorry traffic was bad" seriously? I live 2 miles away how have you worked that one out? I could have walked there and back quicker

Avoid at all costs! It may be tempting as it's the only takeaway in the village, but think again and use whatever is left in your cupboards: this is foul. Stale prawn crackers, crispy seaweed saturated in sugar, fat and gristle which is a replacement for meat and greasy egg fried rice with no flavour. I have given it the benefit of the doubt three times and it seems to get progressively worse. The fish and chips is mildly better but the portion sizes seem to vary every time we go. The food tastes as though it's been left standing for a prolonged period of time - potentially even days.If you want Chinese food or fish and chips, this is not the place! get in your car and drive further afield or scavenge whatever is available at home - it will certainly taste better and you have the added benefit of knowing exactly what it is and where it has come from.
