We visited yesterday for my birthday meal. A private party was going on outside so it was particularly busy.I ordered a ‘birthday’ cocktail which had still not arrived 15 minutes - staff were reminded twice of the forgotten drink. When it finally arrived, it tasted (and resembled) some seriously diluted strawberry squash concoction with 2 halfheartedly prepared strawberry slices thrown on top! At £7 a shout, the cocktail got sent back. The ‘trio of meats’ had ran out. Then the roast beef dinner arrived! My husbands beef was stone cold covered in warm gravy. My beef was uncooked and cold with gristle/fat running throughout (see photos added) Both meals were sent back.We asked for extra gravy 3 times before any actually arrived by which time, some of us had half finished our meals. We asked for various sauces and condiments but only some arrived. We complained to the Manager and were compensated with free food and drinks - unfortunately we could also hear other customers complaining about their meals and service.I have eaten in this pub many times and have always enjoyed good food and service however, on this visit they got it so terribly, terribly wrong and I will be very reluctant to return.

this is a lovely welcoming place, the staff are amazing . we had a problem with a gift card not working and they just took the cash off our bill. the next day I had found the information they needed to use card,I called to pay but they wouldn't let me pay it. so thanks so much. we have decided to go there again and leave a 20 pounds tip. so again thanks.

Lovely pub interiors and exteriors. The gardens are very modern and lots of room for dogs and children. Cute duck pond too. It’s great for sunshine as it’s west facing with epic sunsets over the fields. It would have been 5 stars but the food was very average. We ordered the top steak which was very cheap meat in my opinion. Not cooked very well either. My partners pie looked nice but lacked flavour. Hopefully it was an off day for them. With better quality ingredients and better food this place could be amazing.

the food was very tasty. i was especially pleased with the vegan koftas which i wouldn’t have tried originally but, with encouragement, i picked them and i was very impressed :) our server olivia was a highlight! she was welcoming, attentive and bright, making the evening very enjoyable.

Our daughter and son in law chose the venue to celebrate our Golden wedding anniversary. We had a two hour journey to get to The Greyhound but was well worth it the welcome was great the food was great nothing was to much trouble we were made to feel valued. It is a very friendly pub with a great atmosphere..

A nice looking pub, food was OK but nothing special. Staff were very friendly but service was extremely slow for a Thursday night. Prefer their Sunday dinners to weeknight menu which wasn't as tasty.

Came here with my partner for a Sunday roast in the evening and they had run out of roast potatoes and chips. I understand things happen but if you see that you’re running short of potatoes then I’d expect the kitchen to take initiative and run to a shop to buy more - while that’s not ideal, it avoids customer disappointment when roast potatoes are expected on a Sunday. It’s ludicrous and reflects the lack of initiative and effort on the kitchens part.My partner liked his meal (he said it was average) but I had the vegan mushroom and ale pie and it was very stale and I could tell that it’s just been left in the freezer and reheated in the oven - not fresh and lacked taste. It tasted like a school dinner and the vegetable were boiled, sickly and bland. The fries were also not hot and I could tell they were not fresh potatoes (hence why they probably had them in stock). I’m afraid we won’t be returning. On a positive note, the waiters and waitresses were really lovely and attentive. We didn’t complain about the food as we just wanted to leave but I hope this feedback will help future disappointment for others.I would also like to add that I asked to have the new baby potatoes, which they had in stock, but I was told I couldn’t as they weren’t vegan. Are they already mixed in with butter or something? In that case I can only assume they would also not be fresh.

One child-free evening in Northampton... Looking for a place to eat and happened across the Greyhound in full Christmas party swing (on the 13 Feb - fab!!). Anton got us a table, though we hadn't booked and was super kind. Our waitress was the friendly and fun Natalie... And the food was gorgeous! Starters, Steak and roast didn't disappoint! Then we got up to dance to the amazing live music with the friendly locals and even were invited to move to the village! Overall, a perfect night out! Maybe we will move there!

We had chosen this location as a halfway point to have a business meeting. The food and service was so lovely i felt compelled to right a review.I had the new Korean BBQ chicken starter ( would be great as a main too) Oh my! i would travel back just for that. The rest of the group had mussels, cod & chips & Halloumi and chips - all looked lovely. Usually when you go to a pub you get harvester quality food - this was not that!great service too. Thanks!

We had a delicious lunch on Sunday. 2 of the party are vegetarian and apparently the puff pastry filled with veg and an excellent sauce was delicious. The roast pork and the sirloin beef were very good and the vegetables likewise - not overcooked! The staff were very friendly and efficient and the added bonus was our dogs were allowed to be with us in the bar area. Another visit will definitely be planned.
