"It's great to be back! Thank you for your ongoing support over the last year. A few things to consider before you visit: Booking is not essential, though we would recommend you book in advance. Outdoor service is limited to guests in groups of six or two households (no limit on number) is permitted. Please note we may need to vary our opening hours and food service times given the time of year and the unpredictable nature of our Great British weather! Track and trace requirements have changed meaning all guests over 16 years of age must check in and provide their contact details. Unfortunately we must refuse service if guests do not comply. Visited for the 1st time hadn’t a table booked it was early evening but they accommodated us and nothing was a problem all the staff were so polite. The only concern was after ordering the food was out within 10 minutes. Would I go hell yeah really fab Friday night and lovely food thanks Team Griffin

Food okSlow cooked Lamb was a bit dry and looked like someone had opened a can of pet food and popped it on the plateSmoked Salmon tart had 1 tiny piece of Salmon in it and chewy pastry dressing was nice on it thoughHad to send steak back as it was completely over cookedService unorganised and slowPlace was empty so no excuse really.

We found the Griffin Inn by chance, just needing to stop somewhere for lunch on our journey.It was a typical lovely village pub.Stone built with plenty of parking.A large dining room and a couple of cosy rooms with plenty of sitting space and tables plus a welcoming wood burning stove that was actually gas but gave plenty of heat on a cold November day. The room we were in had a lot of farming artefacts from yesteryear that added to its charm.An excellent menu with further specials of the day on a board. Not the cheapest of meals but huge plates of excellent food .I had the best chips ever, that were triple fried, crispy on the outside and soft potato in the middle.Mmmm! A huge amount of gammon ham and two fried eggs plus lettuce with a honey and mustard dressing. It was too much for me but delicious.The hostess was friendly and welcoming plus very efficient.Just wish we lived in the vicinity as the meal was excellent.
