Lovely meal as always. Have tried a few different things this time and thoroughly enjoyed them. Staff are great. Service can be slow sometimes but the food always makes up for it!

This restaurant really is a hidden gem, small and unassuming from the street you enter into a warm and welcoming atmosphere. Greeted by pleasant and well mannered staff who are eager to please and give you an experience to remember. Both times I have dined here the food has been delicious. Non greasy and made with the freshest of ingredients just how indian cuisine should be. Note for anyone looking to book a table here, Do Not Rely on the online booking system as this does not always relay the correct information, just give them a call to book a table you wont regret it.

The food is not bad but have serious doubts due to their hygene rating and recent court case. Will not use again until the food rating score goes above 1, the lowest rating

Good food and really friendly staff. The staff will always be happy to help and have a conversation with you. Toilets are nice and it's a clean restaurant. They have lots to chose from and all is really delicious. Great place for good food.

The food is by far the best in Welly, it’s clean, non oily, exactly how Indian food should be! Incredible value for money, knocks everyone else into a cocked hat!! The owner has such impeccable manners too! Knows how to treat everyone, deserves to be successful !! Love the food!

Popped in for an evening meal for two at about 8pm on a Sunday. Greeted immediately and given a nice table Service was good and so was the food. Plenty choice on the menu, I had the tandoori special grill selection. Was not expensive. I would go again.

I have known the Akash for over 30 years and the food has been consistently good that is until todayIt was so disgracefully bad that I was driven to phone them as I suspected the business had been sold.The good news is that it hasn’t been sold but the chef is on vacation and won’t be back for 4 weeksFor those of us that love the Akash I would suggest steer clear until March seriously it was disgustingMy only credit is for the staff who have always been curteous and helpful and pleasingly the staff have not changedI’ll now go and have some cheese and biscuits and I suggest we all do the same until March
