We tried to have breakfast at the Dog and Duck today. I had booked but unfortunately, I had mistakenly booked for tomorrow. This was totally my mistake. However, the man who spoke to us was so rude and condescending! He had no customer service skills and spoke to me with what I can only describe as contempt. I understand that they were busy but he was horrible. I will not go there again.

Nice meal and used my birthday free main meal treat which was a bonus. Starter selection was very basic and to be honest if it hadn't been for the sharing platter I would have skipped it which is not like us as we don't eat desert... The steak main was OK, it could have been better seasoned but otherwise was nice

Absolutely dreadful avoid the place. Appalling service waitress had a face ththat would stop a clock clearly didn't want to be there. Ribeye steak was nothing more than a piece of frying stake which i couldn'tcut let alone chew . Advertised as triple cooked chipsin reality nothing more than uncookedOven chips. Half a raw dried tomatoesAnd a raw mushroom for garnish. My Mum had the desert with golden oaty crumble allegedly nothing resembling in reality. Over priced slop I will never return and advise anyone else to do the same.

Pre booked on line. Not too busy. Nice feel to the place. Service and food good. When we left a tip the member of staff said she would pass it onto our waitress!

Arrived to the Premier Inn across the road after a long drive, in the area for the Santa Pod race wars weekend, so was close and handy.A welcome sight to have a sit down at a big table with all the family and finally just chill, beer and wine for mum n dad, and loads of food for all. Nice place, food was exactly what we needed. My ONLY picky thing was the speed of service, little slow in between arriving, and having our orders taken, and then the same again waiting to order dessert, and AGAIN when waiting to pay. Only saying this as the kids were getting restless. Also they were unsure as to what they served from behind the bar, and they came back to either confirm WHAT i had ordered (They had forgotten), and then to tell me they didn't have anymore lefty........... sigh! Small things to me, like i say picky.Next morning, breakfast before we left for the raceway, absolutely spot on, lots of breakfast for everyone to load up for the day, overloaded on Tea and Coffee, lots of toast and food, and went on our way very happy, thanks to the staff for warming the milk for the youngest to drink, again, its just the little things that help

For a chain restaurant the quality was pretty good. All meals looked and tasted great. For a family meal out its a not brainier. Service can be a little slow but that’s me being really picky to be fair.

So previously I would have recommended to everyone on how good there food was bit after tonight never again, what can I say service was appalling, some food was over cooked other stone cold in the middle now at £25 for steak you expect it to be decent as was in the past but not at all to standard, the service was slow our table was booked for 19:00hrs no food until 20:20hrs and this is only because we complained. They no longer do the beer and dripping gravy which was to die for and really complemented the steak such a let down. Now the beer was flat and none enjoyable and had to be returned. Over all I'm very disappointed with dog And duck (beefeater) for ever letting this happen, what happened where did it all go so very wrong, honestly the chef should be ashamed of them selves for such poor standard of food. So would I still recommend that's a definite NO .

Stopped in the Premier Inn next door so it was very handy for a pint and some grub. Had the Mixed Grill twice (it was that good) also had "The big Dipper" burger, nice tasty burger. Also had breakfast here when stopping in the Hotel. Breakfast was superb, plenty of choice and nice Costa coffee to wash it down. Help yourself to the "Continental" and place your cooked breakfast order with the Waiter/Waitress as much as you can eat, absolutely lovely cooked breakfast and the Staff couldn't do enough for you...looking forward to my next stay there, next week.....👍👍👍👍

Ate here as part of the meal deal at the Premier Inn. Sadly no photos of dinner, too hungry, but the chicken melt was decent enough pub fayre.Remembered to photograph my breakfast though. All you can eat but unlike last night, not so hungry, but really enjoyed what I had.Staff very helpful and polite. Happy to return.Christmas? Suddenly remembered that it's not so far away. Scary.
