Duke of Wellington in Wellingborough
Where is Duke of Wellington?
π Church St, Stanwick, Wellingborough NN9 6PS
"The Duke of Wellington is a beautifully-restored 18th century pub and restaurant situated close to stunning Stanwick Lakes and the Rushden Lakes shopping mall. Our team of chefs create fine, fresh food daily and we have a selection of wines and ales to satisfy the most pampered of palates. We also have a huge, double-deck barn which hosts regular music events and is an ideal venue for private parties, weddings and corporate events. As the only pub in our village we see ourselves as the hub of the community and do our best to support local charities and activities. The Duke is named after Bonaparte's nemesis because the first pair of his eponymous Wellington boots were made in Stanwick. So pop in and join us for a taste of history."

We hired the barn for a night. It was amazing. The atmosphere that place creates is brilliant for any party. We also ordered a lot of food! Too much in hindsight, but the staff were incredible and helped us pack it up for our guests. It was delicious! Highly recommend the food. The staff were attentive, friendly, even enjoying a joke or two. Can't rate you all high enough.

Great place. Booked our wedding reception here. The barn is fantastic with its fairy lights and own bar. There's also an upstairs to this rustic cosy barn. Some renovation work being carried out which will make the barn area more private for functions. The restaurant food in The Duke Of Wellington attached next door is fantastic too.

First time here since restrictions lifted. Food was excellent, and piping hot!Waiting staff were friendly, and efficient, on what was a busy afternoon. It's a shame the same can't be said for the manager who was abrupt and not at all welcoming, considering we were a table of 7, and spending a fair bit of money, his manner was cold to say the least.Big tick for staff, thumbs down for management.

The food and service was exceptional. Really good quality and huge portion sizes.I had the steak and ale pie and the pastry was perfect, the steak melted in my mouth. The sticky toffee pudding was HUGE!You will need to book as the venue gets busy, really busy.Have been a few times, and never been disappointed.Highly recommended.

First time visit here.I must say from the start that this is a really lovely place to go for a meal. The interior has a good atmosphere, and when I went there it was reasonably busy which was a good sign. The service was really good, we requested an item be taken off the plate after the food had been served, this was done quickly and without fuss.I enjoyed every morsel in front of me and paid the bill without any qualms.I will be back for dessert soon! The only things missing were a "D" and an "I"

Had a meal there with my son this evening, the meal was great and service also. A charming place apart from their awful carpark! They've spent money on the outside seating area and again it all looks great! The only letdown is that awful potholed car park entrance ! It's been like that for ages! Customer don't want their vehicles damaged! Sort it out!otherwise a great place!

First return after a long >2 year gap due to previous poor service and high pricing. This experience was excellent, starters & mains for 3 people all very good, tried the ox-cheek, lamb pie and slow-roast belly pork, wonβt tell you the best one as may not be any for me next time, π.Can assure you ALL were very good, decent portions and value for money.πππ to the chef especially, service from staff was very good too.Wonβt be long before we return again, well done all πππ
