The Half Moon in Wellingborough

This is a really great place to go for a lunch or tea. Lovely friendly and helpful staff and excellent value for money.

My first visit to meet up with some friends. The general appearance is welcoming and clean and the offerings at the bar tempting. The owner voluntarily laid out some nachos with cheese and some bowls of home made cauliflower cheese to those who accepted the invitation. This was a generous and sensible strategy to drum up future custom. Pricewise a bit higher than some other local establishments.Definitely worth a return visit.

Great pub. The burger was amazing. Was nice to see an ale on tap that wasn't Punk IPA or Neck Oil like every other bloody pub seems to have these days. Highly recommend for a relaxing pint in the sun, a catch up with a mate, or just to shoot the breeze with the lady that runs it.

Challenge accepted! Anne has done a great job in re-opening a seemingly lost community asset after the pub had been closed for a period of around 18 months. Coupled with challenges posed by COVID-19 and the fluctuating economy it was never going to be easy feat. The pub is now a freehold, meaning there's more individuality in the selection of ales and lagers like NBC's Phipps than other pubs which is nice. Give it a try! Support Local!

I love this place the food is lovely but it is understaffed we booked a table for 7.30 and didn't eat until 9 I think if they are short staffed they should warn customers or book less covers

Called in today on our mid ride cafe stop. Parked our bikes securely out the back and sat on the tables out the front of the pub. Service was very good and not long after ordering our food and drink was being brought out. Free refills on the tea and coffee too it appears. First time visit for me and look forward to going again.

Great to see this hostelry open again. Reserve table recommended. Beautiful surroundings enhanced by a happy smiley service.Range of food exceptional, from roast dinners to high tea.Definitely be returning and highly tecommended after a walk round the picturesque village.

Excellent atmosphere and a friendly, accommodating landlady who has worked hard to get the pub back on it's feet after being closed for around 18 months. Highly recommend and well worth a visit. Tasty Sunday lunch and midweek food starting on 4th March.

Most weird experience for a Sunday dinner,booked in advance and arrived on time announced our arrival and ordered a drink and asked if I could start a tab ? They don't do tabs ? OK I'll pay now and I also paid for dinner ? No starter offered and dinner was served which I can't say was overly impressive either,we left most of it and table was cleared and no offer of desert menu ? For a little village pub the experience was poor I'm sorry to say,see any of my reviews I'm usually quite good at leaving a positive the half moon unfortunately didn't do much for me or my wife

Amazing food. Had the venison hot pot myself and loved it. Others had the fish and chips and they were also of note. Decent beer/cider/stout selection on tap. Well stocked bar with a variety of unusual spirits. Highly recommend.
