Good value lunch menu, great salad and chips. Portions just right. Bonus points for not going along with this stupid fad for serving food on planks and slates and shovels and anything else other than the shaped ceramics that have been the literal sign of civilisation for thousands of years. Take note people and give us plates.

Lovely food and very reasonable prices... the home made chips were gorgeous and plentiful!! Dog friendly in the bar area and side room and great seating area outside too. Our new favourite place

We had heard a lot about lunch and the great value for money it offered and the Black Horse didn't disappoint.I often judge a place by its chips and these were proper chips.Well done to the new owners who are clearly keeping the standards up. Well worth a visit.

Friendly staff & Pet Friendly bonus. Food was good but thought the fish batter was bit oily & the Chinese Chicken Curry could have been plated better but was tasty.

Called in for lunch first time since it changed hands. Service was excellent they made such a fuss of the dogs. Food was delicious, lovely rose wine chilled to perfection. Pleasant easy ambience. We will be back. Prices have not changed. Highly recommend

First time here recommended by a friendHad drinks and a meal.... had the liver & onions was very tasty but liver chopped into tiny pieces and not enough swimming in gravyMy partner had the cheese & bacon burger said it was the best he had in a very long time not over cooked and baco3n not cremated, the chips were to die forWill definitely be back. Bar & waiting staff very friendly great atmosphere. Great pub.

Myself and my friend visited for Sunday lunch (we were late and they still accommodated us) Fast, efficient service and the food was so tasty (especially the pork crackling) The jam roll poly reminded me of a school pudding which was lovely. We will definitely be visiting again soon and will be recommending to family and friends.

Oh my word! You need to go here and try the food it's absolutely delicious! The best I have had , and it takes alot to please me! The chef is absolutely amazing, the desserts oh wow ! It beats a local well known cheesecake maker . The staff are so so so friendly bubbly polite and helpful. The pub it's self is clean and just the right balance of modern and traditional . I 100% recommend you go here ASAP.!! 👏 every single person working there deservs a big pat on the back we'll done!! The food portions are great none of this tiny plate so u leave hungry and its so nice you eat it all. The price is great too

Good quality traditional pub food. Have plenty of choice for dinner time and the night menu with the Sunday lunch menu also has plenty to pick from. Will be booking again very soon

Went recently for my husband's 50th meal with the family. Beautiful food, served very well and freindly. This pub is our 'treat' pub. We visit here a few times a year as it's not our local. If your looking for a good meal then here it is
