Sat outside. The outdoor area is amazing with swinging chairs! Also, there's a little play area for kids.

We're not from the area and just dropped in as we were passing..... Wow, I'm so glad we did! The food was excellent and I can honestly say the Ploughman's that I had was the best I've had in my 48 years!Great friendly staff and a well presented building.Outstanding!

Beautifully decorated inside & such a beautiful modern beer garden outside. Even my dog loved loved it . Friendly staff & the food was lovely & well presented. & my pink gin & lemonade was perfect 👌🏽Made 😂not everyone can get this right. 🤩

Me and my partner went last minute and got a table the food was amazing. We both had the beef brisket which was very enjoyable. All the staff were very polite and friendly. A lovely place.

Very good food, friendly staff and a welcoming environment. Little on the pricey side but you get what you pay for. Will be back soon.

Really nice pub, lovely food, reasonably priced. Enjoyed the beef brisket with honey roasted veg and dauphinoise potatoes.

Beautiful outdoor space, indoor well presented. Friendly staff, tasty food. Some menu options are slightly on the expensive side but a lovely outing nonetheless.

We arrived just before our reserved time of 2.30pm to be told our table wasn’t quite ready so would we like to get drinks at the bar which was okay. We explained that we needed to be finished for 4pm as part of the family had a train to catch from Retford, so we would just order main courses. We eventually were shown to our table at 3pm and we immediately asked if we could place our orders which we did at ~3.10. To try and speed up our food, we requested if we could have our cutlery given as our table which was empty. At 3.40pm we were notified that they did not have enough fish & chips to satisfy our orders so could we change three of the orders which we obliged with a reminder of the urgency! At 3.50, part of our 12 head order started to arrive. By 4.00pm all but 11 of the order arrived, however no sign of the 12th order or 3 of the side dishes. At 4.05pm I was notified my order wasn’t available and would I like to re-order?! (at this point, some of our party had already finished eating). Clearly I was very hangry and had to share in my Wife’s meal. Importantly, as a result of the delay my Sister and Family were going to miss their train to London and had to make contact with national rail to change their tickets to a later time.When the bill arrived, the manager blatantly said “Don’t worry, we haven’t charged you for the missing meal and I’ve knocked off the three side orders of fries !” , which incidentally arrived after the meals had been eaten!The manager made no attempt to apologise for the multiple mistakes or deal with our concerns and to smile and think we would be happy not to pay for a meal we had not received is unbelievable. She clearly has no customer service awareness. There is clearly an internal issue with communication between the cooking staff and the service team that needs dealing with. Unfortunately having eaten here several times we won’t be returning until the customer service is dealt with.I’ve given 2 stars as the fish and chips that did eventually arrive was apparently very good.

Great pub between Bawtry and Gainsborough. Great atmosphere, lovely friendly staff, clean and food was amazing, a decent price and portion. Menu has plenty on offer. Will definitely visit again

We live in the village but had not booked and were unsure of getting a place and nice table but received a very warm welcome from the new Irish landlady and a delicious and generous Sunday lunch from her husband, the Chef. Nothing was too much trouble for the manager and staff. Nothing like a warm welcome and good food and wine
