"service with a smile" definitely not!! Called in Sunday 1st May to meet someone for a coffee, the guy behind the bar (manager apparently) never acknowledged us standing there, he grunted to another staff member who asked what we wanted, the manager then went on to make 2 disgusting coffees. No chocolate on the cappuccino nor a mint on the side. It was only coffee this time but i've eaten here many times. If you don't want customers just say so.... better still bring back Matt.

Lovely stay at the white swan, the room was large with an amazing modern bathroom. The bed was super comfy. We also had a meal in the Mucky duck, this was also amazing. With the staff being very friendly and helpful.

We are looking to move to the area, so this will become our local. How lucky are we? We have been for lunch 3 times and every time the service has been great and the food fabulous. If you are passing, drop in. You won't be disappointed.

Lovely pub in beautiful surroundings. Excellent food and service. Would definitely recommend if you're out that way.

We went for my wifes birthday,beautiful food lovely atmosphere,and great staff very attentive overall a very good experience.

Saturday evening 18th birthday meal/disco for our granddaughter. 60 + people in our family and friends group. We had a very good time and found the food and service excellent. This is a lovely venue and well known for it's great food. 👍

We enjoyed the pre Christmas menu regularly and returned in early January, I was a bit disappointed. I spoke to Carl and he was more disappointed than me. He genuinely wanted us to enjoy the food and assured us that we should keep our booking for tonight to celebrate my partners sons birthday. I took Carl at his word and returned. The food was excellent, the service was as, always great, and the deserts were definitely worth keeping a bit of room for. Carl was true to his word, brilliantly attentive and we will return weekly and share the experience with everyone. Give it a try the food, aenvironment and especially the staff are 1st class.Thank you Carl.

We had a very warm welcome from very friendly and knowledgeable staff. The food was extremely tasty and beautifully presented in very relaxing surroundings. Highly recommended.

Lovely pub serving excellent quality food. Service was prompt, friendly despite a group of twenty arriving just after our group of five. We sat in a booth which had a screen between the next section, all the staff were wearing masks. All in all a lovely meal which was excellent value.

Booked here using Tesco Clubcard vouchers. After a rubbish day getting stuck in the snow we were looking forward to a cozy evening to recover from the 40 mile motorway diversion.We were not disappointed. The lady on reception gave us a lovely Yorkshire welcome. We were shown to a spotless room with all the usual facilities. The double drench shower was superb as was the comfy big bed.After refreshing we went down to the restaurant for dinner. The food was first class as was the service from the Restaurant Manager and all his staff.After retiring back to the room we enjoyed a wonderful restful night's sleep. The next morning our day began with a breakfast of the highest order.All in all this was a truly amazing experience from our arrival on a dismal cold snowy evening to the chilly bright late morning when we left.Congratulations to all the management and staff of this Yorkshire gem of a hotel. We will be back with or without the aid of Tesco Clubcard vouchers.
