Went here for a works conference. Oh my days! Dirty cups and cutlery. Cold coffee/tea served in push flasks with no milk. The biscuits were out of date. Lunch was served on filthy plates so bad that i declined to partake. The staff were not exactly welcoming and the security guard was rude. I do not recommend.

Was hassled in lockdown to book a special deal. Brought for my mum £150. Phoned to book to be told it was all cancelled and they were refunding people. Would not have known if hadn't called to book. Won't ever stay there

Awful lying manageress.Stayed at this hotel for a wedding. Our rooms had been booked for nearly two years, as the first wedding date was postponed due to Covid. On arrival we were told that we did not have a booking on the system, (we knew we did). Several other wedding party guests arrived and were told the same. Eventually the manageress came to the reception and gave us a story that our booking was for the previous night so we did not have a room, and none were available. This was a total lie. They had either double booked the rooms or had made a mistake on the date, but it was not our mistake. There was no apology or any admission of fault on their part, and she couldn’t care less. Bearing in mind that the rooms were part of the wedding event which they were hosting on the evening, how could they say the rooms were booked for the previous night?Sometime later another guest turned up who was not with the wedding party and he was told the same fairy story that he had also booked the previous night and didn’t have a room. The father of the bride went to great lengths to sort out accommodation for several couples by moving single people from double rooms and asking them to share to free up rooms. This was the last thing he needed when he should have been enjoying his daughter’s wedding day.We didn’t let it spoil our evening though, and the celebration was lovely. The bar and catering staff were great, and the young man on the bar, who was often on his own worked hard all-night serving guests, great stuff. It’s just a pity the manageress is so poor and dishonest.

Reasonable for the price, reception staff could do with being a little more welcoming / cheery. Place is tired in need of an up lift, understand that's difficult at present. Spa was good value, shame it was overtaken by noisy individuals that appeared to be being housed at the hotel considering how high they piled their breakfast plates, pity they didn't give consideration to other guests, who had actually paid for their stay.

We were booked for a three day Christmas break with my parents at another local Best Western hotel that my parents had been to before and had a wonderful time so we were all looking forward to our holiday together then disaster struck we were moved here to the Ipswich hotel. Communication is non existent with staff. My vegetarian Christmas Dinner did not come with vegetables and when I asked I got veg but no potatoes and no vegetarian gravy. The staff do not seem to have a clue. We were supposed to have a buffet last night as part of our package but they ran out of food. There is very little choice at the bar. At first the room looked lovely however on closer inspection there were long black coarse hairs around the bath. There is absolutely no point in complaining as there are no staff that have any idea how to deal with anything. The youngsters that are trying to deal with a huge numbers of angry guests are out of their depth and unsupported. I will never stay in a Best Western hotel again the whole experience has been a farce it would make a great comedy because you wouldn't believe a ace could be run so ineptly.

Got a cheap overnighter through wowcher. The staff was exceptional and worked so hard. The food was ok and there was plenty of it .. however the decor is dated and the outside could do with a upgrade..The spa was the highlight and was exceptionally clean..The room we was in the tv only had a few channels so missed a film ..The breakfast buffet was OK and self service however the only gripe I had was I love a runny egg with my brekkie.. plenty on offer though so was value for money.

Not a great experience but the location is good..! In the rooms all the pipework was rattling and was very dated, oh and the toilet didn't exactly flush which sucked! On the other hand, the staff were really nice and the food in the morning was pretty good..! Wouldn't stay there again however.

Recently booked a spa day here. Spa itself was amazing, girl on spa reception couldn't do enough to help. Had a very relaxing massage from a incredibly friendly young girl. Food was lovely. Only downside and reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because when trying to book the spa, I got through to the hotel's main reception and when I advised that I was unable to reach the spa reception to book the day, Katie rudely put the phone down on me twice as soon as I mentioned I couldn't get through to the spa. Very unprofessional to hang up on customers trying to book!

Purchased a “deal” through Best Western which included Bed, breakfast, 3 course evening meal with a bottle of wine and a spa treatment for two. It came at a very good price and was initially really pleased with the offer. We were issued room 220 upon arrival which is a long way from reception which wasn’t a problem but you immediately realise what the room may be like as you walk along a thread bare second set of stairs.Very spacious room but that’s all. Very cold so turned the bedroom radiator on immediately which consistently made a very loud, constant noise (sounded like a kettle about to boil……all of the time) and released a poor amount of heat for the size of it, needs a good bleed I think. The bathroom radiator never worked at all. Double bed was ok but very noisy with the simplest of movements in bed turning over, also very “springy” in places. The bathroom was very tired with a net curtain only up covering a very damp and mouldy window. What we can only see as “ dirt” on the toilet cistern, sink and tiles we wiped off.Reception and bar areas we ok albeit buying a drink was a little expensive. The three course meal also was just ok. Starters were good, the garlic mushrooms and pate/ toast were very tasty and enjoyable. The curry of the day was explained as a chicken korma it was most definitely not that and albeit edible the chicken was very “plastic” and quite dry. My wife’s sausage and mash had tough sausages with some of that left also. The mash and veggies that accompanied it were good however. The deserts were very tasteless. At breakfast there was plenty to choose from and it’s hard to say but all the items that were not cooked, tea, coffee, yoghurts, fruit, cereal were all good but the bacon was hard, sausages tough, scrambled egg watery and mushrooms and tomatoes cold. The finest part was the spa treatment and the floatation, nice set up and really relaxing, would definitely recommend this!!All in all it’s a fairly negative review, but staff were all nice and welcoming but like some of the other reviews definitely not a 4 star hotel. At the absolute best a 3 star.

Well, our faces dropped when we arrived here. The hotel, from the outside is really unattractive and ugly.BUT, it's not so bad on the inside thank goodness! The bar is nice and comfortable, as is the restaurant. We had breakfast every morning which was nice and offered a nice variety including some lovely fresh fruit which made me happy! The staff were lovely and very accommodating. We used the spa regularly and had the Rasul treatment which was amazing, I fully recommend it!We were originally put in room 311 but we asked to be moved as it was grotty. There were loose tiles on the bathroom floor and the last visitor's dirty towels still in the bath and the bed was unmade!! We got moved to room 305 which was much better other than the very noisy floorboards!I found most areas to be clean and tidy but unfortunately, I did notice a horrible dirty smell every time I came up the stairs.
