Went there with my son last week, the food was very good tasty did although left you feeling a bit hungry. The staff I'm afraid need to take some happy pills what a miserable lot especially the young girl that served us cheer up love.

Our weekend away unfortunately coincided with storm Eunice. Had a warm friendly welcome but sadly no electricity, plenty of tea lights in the bar. We were shown to our rooms using our phone lights. Our room had a smell of sewage. I had to use the toilet which was a disaster. On flushing, the water came up to the top of the toilet bowl and water pored from behind into the shower room, water also pored from the ceiling in the bar below. We were then moved to another room, we should have been told not to flush the loo it needed electricity! We were given a selection of sandwiches on the house which was very welcome, one of our party doesn't eat meat so most of that plate was wasted. The emergency lighting went out around 9.00pm leaving the place in darkness apart from a few candles. We ordered Breakfast for the following morning and went to bed.On waking the power was back on, sadly the heating wasn't fit for purpose the bottom third of the radiator was hot the rest was cold, it took 24 hours to heat the room.We went down to a very disappointing Breakfast, certainly not worth the extra £10 each we had to pay. On top of that mine had to be changed for one without gluten!!Our evening meal was a disaster too. We looked at our menus in our room went down to the dining area (not a room) only to be told the menu we had chosen from was lunch only. We had nothing 😪.All in all I feel this is only a 2 star pub with rooms and not a 4 star hotel. Our shower room was to say the least very disappointing. The room was very tired.

For a 15th century establishment, it was a rare experience. Loved it and the village of Lavenham. Staff very welcoming, food good as was the room, which was homely. Very nice stay.

Cut above the usual pub grub. Clean, spacious, nice ambiance, faultless service, fair prices. We will be going again.

Great bar in Lavenham. Good range of beers and food specials throughout the week. Dog friendly too. Opens early which is good for a holiday breakfast beer 👍🏻🍻

Had Sunday Lunch here. Would say one issue I had was failure to update their website with up to date prices. Sunday Lunch was listed as £15.95 but was actually £17.95 on arrival. Also extra charge for two courses. Price was listed as £24.95, dessert menu listed most as £6, what with mains at £17.95 made that £23.95 so charging extra £1 to have two courses. Surely price it at £22.95 as an incentive to have more. Only one slice of beef with meal which was rather poor. Okay but made up more of all vegetables

Absolutely fantastic food and service. Great value for money. Staff were welcoming, friendly and created a relaxed and professional atmosphere. Best pie either of us have ever had and the chips were amazing! We'll definitely be back!

Loved everything about this place. Friendly staff; comfortable room with everything you might need; great shower and bath; really delicious food; blazing log fire in the bar and free parking outside!

A bit pricey, but it's the Angel Hotel. 2 spirit drinks will set you back £20 at the bar. Haven't had the food, but I hear its good.

We went for lunch and sat outside at the front. The staff were pleasant but the food was overpriced. We ordered chicken sandwiches which came with fries and salad. Very small portions no dressing. We then had to endjore stinky smokers which made it so bad we had to leave before we had finished our drinks. Better value and smoke free elsewhere.
