Patience rewarded ,and a call back from The Crown ensured we could spend a three day weekend with them in the lovely Suffolk countryside .What a super team they have ; we were very well looked after at table by a group of happy ,eloquent folk motivated to deal almost flawlessly with customer needs . Our food at breakfast and dinner was beautiful ,tasty and attractively served and presented .Though we’ve been visiting almost since the Hotel rooms came into being , redecoration and daily attention to detail has kept them most comfortable ,with the housekeeping staff seemingly also keen to make sure everything is as it should be !A really wonderful stay ; it was almost a shame to have to leave !None of this is possible without great management and leadership ,making guests feel very much at home !

We stopped here just on the off chance for lunch. The staff were very nice, found us a table really quickly. The menu is well worth a look, with a particularly nice wine list. We ordered which was very efficiently taken and didn't have to wait long for drinks. The food was absolutely lovely. Served with a smile. We are definitely going back again. We'll worth a visit.

Yesterday was the second time we’d booked to go to The Crown for Sunday lunch, and both times we experienced less than satisfactory customer service. We had decided to give it another try, as we had enjoyed the food so much previously. Unfortunately, we won’t be going again. It’s very disappointing, as the location is beautiful, and the food looks and tastes good. The chefs know what they’re doing, reasonably priced, and it’s not just your typical pub grub. However, there doesn’t seem to be any order whatsoever with staff. It was reasonably busy, and there were plenty of staff working, but we didn’t feel that anybody was particularly interested in our table - not even enough to say “somebody will be with you soon”. Not only were we waiting for over half an hour just for menus - despite asking multiple members of staff - but we also had to stop a server from running away after she’d served our food, to ask for condiments and additional drinks (both of which are quite basic expectations). We definitely would have ordered more drinks and desserts on both occasions, should servers have been more attentive, but instead we left as soon as we’d finished our meal.We had been very impressed, on the first visit, with the vegetarian roast - some kind of vegetable Wellington. Unfortunately, there was no vegetarian roast option at all yesterday. There was an Asian tofu salad or vegan macaroni cheese, only. This was disappointing, considering the long list of meat options for Sunday lunch. We visit a lot of pubs for a casual lunch with friends, but we have never experienced this anywhere else. It’s a real shame that The Crown doesn’t meet expectations, even for a casual Sunday lunch. Perhaps the owners should reduce the number of tables available, if staff are struggling to provide adequate service. In my opinion, additional customer service training for all customer-facing staff should be prioritised.

Visited mid week on an absolutely packed lunch due to the unseasonably warm weather. I have to say service was spot on considering how busy it was and the food was lovely. Liked the local bitter, daughter loved the kids fish and chips. I wish they could make more of the view with the seating, but I can see how that would be quite a challenge.

Myself and my husband visited last night with our eight month old and two friends. The food was amazing, especially the steak that was cooked perfectly. The customer service was also brilliant as was the atmosphere. We will definitely be returning.

A really great meal. All four of us have eaten here many times. Always a lovely selection of food and drink plus friendly service. It takes two of us 45 minutes to get here and 30 minutes for the other couple. Well worth it.

Went for a pub lunch. Extensive and interesting wine list. Food menu with recommendations for wine by the glass under each option. A fish menu which changes often accordingly to availability. Absolutely excellent food, excellent service and good ambiance.

We enjoyed dinner for two last night.Calves liver and bacon was an exemplary dish; as was the sea bass, beautifully judged. The marmalade sponge pudding with vanilla ice cream was a special treat - really light and totally scrummy. Our stand out experience was aided by the attentive cheerfulness of Allyson - new to the team, she told us - and already confident and communicative and doing a great job.The Crown sets a premium standard - reflected in the price points - but the results are evident and we’d recommend others to try!

Went here recently and had excellent meal. We were with large party and everything was served hot and on time. Really good friendly staff best Sunday lunch I've had for a long time.

Lovely venue. Greeted upon entry. Menu had good selection. Our 3 courses were all good but the baked skate was superb. Will certainly visit again soon.
