The Lakes Restaurant, Stoke by Nayland Hotel Golf Spa in Babergh

I always happily return as the food is absolutely perfect and so yummy! The chef is really accommodating as well, and with a smile on his face, which is a plus! 😍 Please bring back the pastas and perhaps the soups, they were absolutely delicious!

Unfortunately the website says, “Fine dining has never tasted so good in our Lakes Restaurant” Wrong it did 6 months ago, now it’s not even worthy as a pub experience.Not fine dining, not a la carte or fresh I would not recommend or go back.Service is great but food is terrible.Award winning it was,not anymore.A lot better places in the area.0 out of 10 for food

Great choice of menu, well cooked and presented. Very attentive and friendly staff. Reasonably priced for the quality of the restaurant. We would recommend to anyone looking for a special experience

Brilliant. Just been to a wedding there and the venue was perfect all the staff so helpful, friendly and efficient. Bedrooms very clean and beds extremely comfortable. Would highly recommend.

Really lovely restaurant, hotel and Spa. My wife and I have spend a good few nights here over the past 4 years or so. We love the surrounding and the evening meals in both the bar and restaurant are just excellent. We were slightly unimpressed with the breakfast this trip but all in all a great evening away from the kids. Staff are all friendly and extremely helpful. Check out the kids swimming lesson schedule if you are planning a kid free spa session. They didn't disturb us one bit but I know some people can be fussy.

Stunning food, cooked to perfection and served professionally. Waiters are very attentive and friendly. Beautiful views of the golf course, restaurant is warm, cosy and very inviting. Food served consistently with very little wait between courses, one of the best places I have eaten in a long while. I must visit in my opinion.

We went for Sunday lunch lovely food but there were a lot of staff and they wasn't doing much! No one came over to see if everything was ok or even to tell us when to go up to the carvery! We had to call someone over! Soup was so thick you could stand spoon in it! We have been before and were downstairs which was so much better not sure if we would return

Ate here for a 40th birthday family celebration and the service was very slow . The carver was wakeful the beef was inedible and left on the side of everybody’s plate. The salmon was serviced with virtually raw leeks and no other vegetables or potatoes.. not really a full meal. The only pleasant food item was the fancy bread and butter on the table and the bottle of wine. The bill was calculated incorrectly overcharging us with the number of meals we had and the volume of wine drank.. charging for larger glasses of wine when the small 125ml were ordered.I will not be recommending this to friends or retiring here to eat again . Absolutely appalling.
