The Maldon Grey in Babergh

Went for a meal for my sons birthday. Always had a lovely meal there. Great staff. But... Last night had steak toasty. The steak was like leather had to take it out of the the toast. No knives and forks given. Not recite after paying. Very disappointed 😥

A very friendly and family orientated pub. Ever since the refurbishment the food is great and the staff are super helpful and friendly. The chefs are amazing as all the food so far has been spot on. Plenty of choice on the menu, and they're willing to go off menu a little to help cater for kids.

A great pub, food tastes delicious, staff are very friendly and welcoming always greeted and spoken to during the day. It gets very very busy at times which goes to show its popularity in the community. Would recommend to anyone!

We visited the Maldon Grey on Saturday 15th January for the first time. It was a pleasantly friendly place with the customer wishing me a good evening. They were bring out a lot of food which looked good but there was rather a lot of it - too much for me unless you shared it with a friend. It was quite busy but part of it was blocked off, which meant we couldn't see the dancing etc that was going on at the other end. We enjoyed going to this new place I'd found. We will be going back at some point.

Nice for our local. Food is good. But where is the prawn cocktail? Would be nice if they could change the menu has been the same since November. Perhaps less choice but more especials.

Had another lovely meal. Love the friendly family atmosphere. Cheerful, helpful team.

I just had my first ever roast dinner! It was sooo good! 😃 beautiful place and great atmosphere ! Dessert was absolutely amazing! I definitely recommend it 🙌

We went here for a Sunday dinner with 4 adults and 3 children under 4.This is the first time we have been here since it's redecoration and opening under new management and things are much nicer than they were.The place was clean and the staff were helpful.The Sunday lunches were HUGE and tasty.There was a slight problem with the fish fingers for the kids being overcooked, which we mentioned and then these were replaced, which is great, sometimes mistakes happen and it's how you deal with this that matters.I would definitely go back to try some other food and have a beer.Oh and the chocolate brownie and ice cream dessert was amazing.

Very good food, friendly staff. It is a family pub so lots of children and a bit noisy as to be expected. Pricing was good and the place was very clean

I had a fantastic night in the newly refurbished Maldon Grey! The food was delicious boasting good looking plates of food at a great price. The bar staff were attentive and helpful even during the busy night that was filled with atmosphere surrounding a fantastic live band! I will definitely be coming back here again, I recommend taking a visit if you're near the area.
