Food was mediocre 😕 and chips were covered in oill but if that wasn't enough of a put off there was a decent sized dead fly on the top of the chips would not recommend this chip shop

Nice to see a fish and chip shop having vegan options. My food was cooked whist I waited and was good and chips were lovely. Great to see them using cardboard instead of foam cartons to put the food into take away in.My friends had fish and chips one of them wasn't overly impressed with the taste of the fish but as I don't eat fish I can't comment. My other friend said the fish was okay hence the 4 stars not the 5.

My Dad has bought fish and chips from this shop for over 30 years, supporting a local business. He's seen ownership change multiple times and still supported them. When my Dad retired a while back, he started getting food from here at least once a week. The other day, he took a loyalty card in there to use for a meal as he fancied it and they wouldn't accept it because it was "an old loyalty card"If you ask me, they wouldn't know loyalty if it smacked them in the face and they should be ashamed of themselves! We will never give them our business again.

Just had my 3rd poor experience at this chip shop. My cod was luke warm, the batter not very crispy. The chips were also barely warm & soggy. Shame as it used to be very good. Sadly won’t be using again

Tasty, cooked me a fresh fishcake and chips were exactly how l wanted them. They asked if l wanted salt and vinegar, normally l always no...this time l said yes and even that was the quantity l would of used. ✔

After 10 yrs of the occasional bag of chips when we was in the area I thought I'd treat my dad to these exceptionally gorgeous chips with some fish, never tried it but thought it should be equally nice....how wrong was I! When we got home to eat them we was so disappointed, soggy chips and fish like rubber! My misses said it's the worse fish she ever tasted. Shame, I really dont understand how it went wrong so quickly. We wont be returning

By far the best chip shop, everything is fresh and the food is clean (I've never had chips cooked in old oil you know) they have a cloc and collect window to save time, the queues on a Friday night speak for themselves. If you want a decent fish, or pie and chips this is the place to go.

We used to use this shop every week, spending £50-60. It was excellent. But most recently it’s dreadful, they forget parts of the order, or its lukewarm. I left it for a while, but tonight I gave it another go, don’t waste your money, still forgetting parts of order, lukewarm cod, no chips! I phoned, fair customer telephone manners, said they would send a driver with my order, we are still waiting…?

Never really leave bad reviews but arrived here yesterday to pick up my dad some chips, I walked in and was completely blanked for about 10 minutes (absolutely no queue) I assume they was sorting out maybe online orders or something but someone could have simply said be with you shortly. Food was good and prices are ok.

We tried this place out after our normal one being closed and it was really good. Will get the one weird negative out of the way, we went to order on just eat and it was over £20 but after looking at reviews also there website there prices was different. So we drove down there and got it only came to £12.50 which was such a difference. So if you can travel amazing, but the food was cooked fresh which you could taste, the fish was one of the best my partner said, he had the plaice which was huge! Really good portions too! We struggled to eat a regular chips each, it doesn’t look it but very filling. Also a side note the staff were so professional, smart the place was so clean and fresh. They was happy to help anyone, thank you!!! We would definitely be using them again. Thank you for a lovely tradition chippy!!!
