Oriental Express in Basildon

The quality of the food is so good. Noticedhow fresh the food was. Staff friendly and they provide an efficient delivery service. Does get a little busy but not surprised as it's the best authentic Chinese in town.

Good food at a good price

Been coming here for years. My go to dish is roast pork chinese style and special fried rice but no more. The rice is boiled rice with a few miniscule prawns and tiny scraps of pork. I found one tiny piece of egg, no peas, no chicken. The pork which used to be nice slices is cut so thin it's crispy and dry. Sadly I won't be returning.

Food is good. Wasn’t impressed that they charged 20% surcharge during COVID to recoup their losses when they closed for 2 weeks (they wouldn’t admit that!). Since surcharge has been dropped, most dishes have seen price increases of £1 each. Very expensive for what you get!

Ordered #40 & #157The consistency of the black bean sauce was very watery, little to no spiciness and the taste was not what I usually experience.The egg fried rice was bland at best. Might as well have ordered just plain boiled rice.The service left much to be desired.Had to ask for utensils, surely that should be complimentary.It was my first & last time.

AVOID AVOID AVOIDWorse Chinese we have every had!!All food was microwaved as turned up within 15 minutes of ordering.Open two lids of the food containers to find to black hairs on top!!!Absolutely disgusting, phoned them up and they tried saying that all staff wear hats.. which is and absolute lie as when we took it back the man on the till didn’t have a hat on.Tried offering us money off our next meal, not the fact that we completely wasted £35 on something I wouldn’t give my dog!!!Save your money and go somewhere else

A delicious Chinese take away shop, with a large variety of dishes to choose from, the quality is nice and there is the option to collect in person or deliver to your door. The staff are fantastic and don't forget to get a free fortune cookie and calendar while they have them.

small portions, microwaved, all precooked. ordered the meal for one. received enough sweet and sour sauce to cover 1 chicken ball. half portion of rice. chicken chow mein with 1 yes 1 piece of chicken, egg fried rice was just plain boiled rice. this is a meal for 1 if you are under the age of 5. complete con will never use again.. AVOID....
