Great place - we did not book but JAKE made us very welcome and found us a nice table. He was a very attentive waiter bringing drinks and apologised when a meal was not available but offered an alternative of equal value. The meal was very tasty and plentiful.2 meals for £10.99 was excellent value.GEORGIA cleared and cleaned out table. We would like to thank both Jake and Georgia for making our evening meal so enjoyable.Table 18 on 17th February

Last Friday, they didn't have any Ales in the pumps, and later on no whisky, only Jameson's orange, a bit poor for a Friday, but we still have a great time for the leaving do of one of our colleagues, and the barmaids were all really friendly and nice. Food was very good.

Cheap meals.. good value. can get busy on weekends. Steak meal on Mondays... For £5. Rump steak. Added today I went for a curry today it was almost cold i know there is pressure with this worlds virus challenge but it was not good today it also had no chutney as on the menu. Try more thx.since then it's gone down hill dirty tables etc don't bother the Honey Pot is better

Went in on the 2nd January 2022, miserable woman behind the bar, kitchen closed and no apologies.Had breakfast the next morning here because it was part of our hotel, 10 other people in there max and we waited 40 minutes for food which was cold. We then got a continental.....more disappointment it was a microwaved croissant. The morning team were friendly and the tea and coffee were hot but that's it.Alright for a drink but that's it.

( I have amended this review halfway down) Not been to the Quays for about 10 years. I haven't missed much. The mixed grill and scampi and sweet potato fries were over cooked and very dry. I didn't complain as sometimes you get what you pay for. What maybe saved the night were the desserts. Maybe because they were premade and shipped in. I had the same meal at the Hungry Horse in Rayleigh a month ago. It was 10 times better. Sort the chef's, cooks or whoever works in the kitchen. We won't be coming back.I had a good constructive chat with Matt who works at the Quays. I have increased to 3stars. Matt offered a voucher to return but in hindsight I should return to see if anything had changed. I explained to Matt I always take photos of food and have about 4,500000 views. As long as the Stella is on Matt I will return. 🍻

Would've been 5 stars if there was music upstairs. They was watching the football by the sounds of it downstairs and we are assuming that's why there was no music. But the food and drink was great!

We had the best day here, first day out with the girls since lockdown...sun was shining it was beautiful. We had the best bar/host waitress Maggie. She presented our drinks with taste! She was amazing! She made our day even more special... we loved Maggie! Best bar maid I've met in a long time! Lovely lady
