Queens Park Fish Bar in Basildon

EDIT: Three years since I left my below review and I’ve continued to use this chippy throughout. They have remained consistently good and I’ve always enjoyed great quality food and service from them - in fact, I’m off there again in a half hour to grab the family’s dinner! 😂All food here is nice and staff friendly. However, be warned that customers are dealt with in strict rotation, so if there is a queue in front of you all waiting for their orders and YOU just want a bag of chips, you will have to wait until the queue has been given their ordered foods before you get yours. Worth the wait though.

Nice clean shop, fast polite service and good fish and chips.

This has been my go-to fish and chip shop for years... This family run business produces consistent results and it's always served with a smile! Very good indeed! Recommended.

Ordered two sausage in batter and two portions of chips. Wrapped straight away, no option for salt and vinegar was asked before she wrapped it. Wakey wakey!Got home only 1 portion of chips with two sausage in batter.I won't be back

On previous occasions I have found the food nice with good size portions and friendly service.So to my disappointment and to be honest disgust that today I went with my grandson to purchase a portion of chips costing £2:10when the member of staff handed me the package I could feel the size was small.I didn't say anything but when I opened the packaging I was disgusted not even the small bag was filled and not only this the contents were obviously from the last previous batch made.They were cold, fatty and grey looking.I was so annoyed I called the shop and spoke to the manager whom yes offered replacement chips or my money back. But sorry, I did not want to go back to the shop given the rest of the meal was cooked.If the staff are new like they said- then perhaps they need to either check what they are giving to their customers or simply sack them
