The Rectory in Basildon

There is a pleasant and relaxed atmosphere at this restaurant that makes it so inviting. I've been here a number of times now - my son and his wife even more so - and I've never been disappointed. The other evening, I saw one of the employees eating in with his family (on his day off work). That says a lot!

I've been meaning to write a review for this establishment considering I am overall happy and appreciative to have a restaurant like this.The environment is entirely nice with staff completely friendly and helpful. The vibe this place has is arguably one of the best in town and certainly the most memorable. It's so nice - I have already come back to this place a few times for breakfast. Whilst I still haven't had dinner here; myself and my mum have credited just how the food looks from other tables.I have provided a few pictures for you to digest how much I recommend this restaurant. I hope so much that the establishment survives considering it feels like many establishments do not in a town centre like ours.

1st time visit and enjoyed it. Will definitely return. Only issue was the chips. There seemed to be a mix of fresh and refried chips. For what they cost this shouldn't happen.

Love this place,only had oat milk shakes so far.( Dairy intolerance) but love the way they notify the manager about it. I'm yet to have a meal in here.but it's on the *to do list* and big thanks to the staff they are all fabulous.

Very friendly welcoming place. Great menu and a great selection of drinks all very reasonably priced. An absolute gem in the town centre that is unfortunately falling apart round it.

Best new place in town! Quirky interior and cosy atmosphere, good selection of mains, tapas and cocktails (all reasonably priced), and friendly staff. They were missing a few items off the menu when we went on a Saturday afternoon, but there was still a lot to choose from.

Quite pleasant, drinks are good and food is reasonably priced and tastes great. Plus the range of board games available is very fun to play

What a great place for dining. London standard. Amazing interior, great choice menu , also delicious . The only thing lacking is the service, but I believe it's temporary because this cafe is just open. I definitely will be back and recommending for everyone.

Had a lovely Cappuccino here, atmosphere is very trendy and staff are very helpful. Will definitely be paying a visit in the future to try out the menu.

Lovely cozy place, great drinks and amazing service from Sharon ☺️ would 100% recommend this place. Can’t believe they allow dogs too.
