Toby Carvery in Basildon

It has been a while since having had a carvery, and I must say, long overdue. This one did not disappoint! Our server was great, even advised us of a discount we didn't know about. The carver gave us a generous portion of meat, cooked perfectly! I was happy to see Mac 'n Cheese on the buffet, it was delish! Thanks for a great meal!

Nice fresh food but could have been hotter. Ice machine not working, told to go to bar, no staff behind bar so actually due to long wait and dinner getting cold i walked round the bar and helped myself. Couldnt find any staff, even the bloke serving the meat had disappeared !

I had lunch with friends there yesterday. It was a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The food was beautifully cooked and the staff attentive and friendly, from the Chef that expertly carved our meat to Alex our waitress, who was really lovely. She made us feel very welcome. Thank you all. Would definitely recommend eating at this Toby Carvery.

We visited on a Saturday evening around 5:30pm, the restaurant was pretty quiet.Most of our party of eight had the carvery apart from one person that ordered a turkey and gammon club Yorkshire pudding wrap, the wait at the carvery was pretty short however I wasn’t aware the food was rationed, the meat portions were really poor even for the king size plates and sadly the majority of the meat bar the turkey was pretty poor quality, full of fat and sinews and mostly inedible, the turkey and gammon wrap wasn’t any better, one piece of turkey and no gammon. The vegetables were ok apart from not actually being very hot.The staff serving the food on the carvery were helpful with informing us about what food was suitable for my daughter who does have some allergies.Our server never returned to see if any more drinks were required or if we were happy with our meals so we were left with trying to get her attention but her response was as if it was normal practice.The puddings were ok if not a little on the expensive side, especially £4.49 for 3 scoops of raspberry sorbet.It’s been a while since we last visited and to be fair I wouldn’t care if I didn’t come back as the overall experience was pretty poor.

Waited 10 minutes at reception whilst the host played on her laptop, then 20 minutes before we got acknowledged by the waiting staff, ordered drinks and nearly finished our meals before I could get the staffs attention to find out where our drinks were. Funny enough tho the bill was rapid. Wont ever go there again.

Just had a lovely meal at Toby Carvery at Festival Park Basildon, we was served by a wonderful waitress by the name of Rachel, so polite, attention to detail and her work rate was second to none. We used to be served by Georgia, by request because she was so good, until she left, and I would like to say Rachel is as good as. So we will request her now as our waitress

Apart from the waiting time to be shown to a booked table not to bad. Meats okay, only thing they could get rid of the turkey and put chicken up but guess it's to do with the amount of meat on a chicken. All the usual veg, nothing wrong with what we had.

Lovely food when we eventually got it. Had to wait for an hour as we hadn't booked . Will definitely book next time. Staff very friendly and helpful..

Basildon, Always a pleasant restaurant to visit for any reason all be it a quiet meal for 2 or a special family occasion, the food was amazing, cooked to perfection and extremely flavoursome. Staff are always attentive, nothing to much trouble. Our waitress wasn’t wearing a name badge so unfortunately couldn’t leave a personal review, but hopefully she’ll get recognition as her service was great.
