Good food.lots of choice. Large garden. The let down was staff allowing dogs to roam freely around the garden and urinating up the table leg of the benches where people eat. That is NOT acceptable even if you like dogs

·

Terrible meal and service. Took 3 hours for 3 courses and had prawn cocktail that i could of easily made better at home. If it wasn't for the fact it was a celebration party and planned for weeks, we would of walked out. I won't be going back.

The setting is very pleasant, in a rural village, and the interior of the pub comprises lots of old beams that look to be genuine.I had looked at the menu a few months ago via the website and thought it a bit pricey but perhaps a good option for a celebration. This weekend we're celebrating our 30th wedding anniversary so I thought it a good opportunity to try the Fox and Hounds. The main course was good but I wasn't happy with my dessert or the coffee. My concerns were satisfactorily addressed by the staff so no real complaints there. The waitresses were pretty good but I think the chef must have had an off day.Perhaps I'll try again in a few months.

Popped in here after a walk so admittedly we were starving but the food was so good and such a pretty little place with a lovely fire. It's a long way from home but I might be tempted to go back for another cajun chicken burger 🍔😍

We went out for a family meal, first time in ages to be able to spend time together which to be honest was ruined by the very very poor service, we sat for 20 minutes before the staff took our drinks order and we were forgotten about and as customers. It took 3 attempts to get staff over to take our food order, then after 20 minutes staff came back to tell us that one of our orders was no longer available. We had been there just over an hour and a half before our order was delivered to the table. Staff were inexperienced not really interested. They didn't even know what types of larger they sold. The food itself was good so top marks to the chef, but the service was beyond appauling. Our table was booked for 1pm and we left at 3.45pm. No apologies, no comments from staff, not very welcoming atmosphere. We were staying local and were informed that it was under new management, maybe the new management could learn what acceptable / good service is about from the previous Owners!!! In this day and age living on someone's previous reputation is not acceptable when spending over £120 on a meal.

My husband booked a surprise birthday meal for me , after we kept driving past and saying it looked a lovely place to visit . Also after having the last 2 birthdays in lockdown . It would be a nice treat .On arrival at 7pm the restaurant was empty, when we arrived the 2 people that were behind the bar were more interested in the floor . We were finally acknowledged and shown though to the empty restaurant. We were given the food menu and left for about 15 minutes ..In the meantime a group of 4 , were seated and and within minutes a member of staff approached them for there order .I then went to the bar and asked, should we place our order here or how do we go about ordering drinks . It was then that we were approached and said . I am just coming to you .We then ordered our drinks and food , my husband order the halloumi with chilli jam for starter of which came with the smallest amount of chilli jam drizzled on the plate . I had the mussles to start with of which were good . My husband order the venison bourguignon for his main of which there was hardly any meat and the mash was not of the quality that would expect.I ordered the duck with dauphinois potatoes ( of which was advised there were no dauphinois potatoes available ) and was offered a substitute of lionise potatoes . The duck was tough and the meal was dry and very disappointing. My husband was really disappointed as , he had arranged this surprise birthday meal of which had not lived up to expectation.

NOT GOOD FOR VEGETARIANS.While I enjoyed the taste, this Cauli ‘steak’ meal offered zero protein, making it an almost pointless meal for vegans or vegetarians.

·

We had a good experience, good service with extremely friendly staff, steak cooked perfectly as requested and my wife enjoyed the well made cocktail an enjoyable meal for a reasonable price , would definitely recommend 👍

Very overpriced for the quality I was told they did the best steak here better than Miller & Carters, but not even close. Under seasoned I was very dissatisfied considering the price which they charge by the ounce on the steaks.Think we waited about 1hr 20 for our meals and when the food came out had to remind the staff we was missing a side, and it wasn’t really busy either. All in all the food was better than average but they need to roll back the pricing because the quality wasn’t there for me.Nice interior very clean facilities.
