what a lovely evening out great food and very nice staff not the cheapest but if you won't great food it's well worth a visit

Always love the Golden Cross. The food is really good, and the staff always make you feel welcome. All our family celebrations are held here. Not a budget option, but we feel it is well worth a visit.

Always a brilliant meal. I think best Chinese in town.

Food is always exceptional (if a little sweet). However, we waited 50 minutes after the starter course for the main course. As is usually the case with this place, as soon as it gets busy, the service time hits the floor and the biggest table gets all the attention. I suspect they only have 1 x chef. We actually ran out of time, and had to leave the desert & coffee from the set meal but I noticed they made no discount. We were also placed on a table that was far too small for the 5 of us. I will of course go back though!

Having been rejected by the anchor up the road who have a ridiculous no cash policy..was pleased to find the Golden Cross.....fabulous food, great service and good selection of drinks...highly reccommended.

My daughter has had an awful time recently and wanted to take her two year old son out for tea on her own big step for her. when she phoned to book a table for 6 o'clock she was not welcome and the man basically hung up the phone .

Very good food and a nice atmosphere. Car park at the rear and for those interested Covid secure (check in, face coverings, waiting staff all keeping their distance). Absolutely NOT a criticism... It's not cheap but it is very good.

The best Chinese in the area! Never had a bad meal here. Waiting times can be lonnnggg at the weekend as it's incredible popular! Car park is limited and packed to full capacity too, since the recent easing of Covid restrictions.

Very busy on a Saturday night as you would expect. Service was pretty good considering the numbers being looked after including two large tables having birthday celebrations- including the mandatory load playing of happy birthday 😃 Food was well presented and tasty, crispy duck was very good. Was definitely worth the trip

Food was delicious as always. Service was a little slow to begin with but improved quickly. If you're on a budget, it is expensive but I've never minded as you pay for the quality. Only downside is theres only ice cream for dessert!
