Thought I’d celebrate my birthday with a nice Indian takeaway as we’ve had from Indian summer in the past but unfortunately was very disappointed after spending £40. The chicken korma was tasteless as it had been watered down and so was the chicken itself. The naans had no flavour either. Sounds harsh but the £2.50 Tesco Korma with rice has more flavour and I’d save £30 as well.

The last time I was here was well before all that lockdown palaver, and I loved it then. I was hoping that the pandemic hadn't done anything to affect the quality of the place... Read on!The staff are very friendly and the service was excellent, however the service was not nearly as good as the food!Started with onion bhaji, crispy on the outside, hot, soft, and flavourful, not at all oily or greasy.I also had lamb rogan... Correction. I had the BEST lamb rogan I have ever had! The flavours were incredible, and I savoured each and ever mouthful. Mushroom rice and kemma nan, both cooked to perfection.I felt the prices were very reasonable considering the amazing quality of the food.Unfortunately, the restaurant wasn't as busy as it used to be, no doubt as a result of... You know what I'm talking about.I hope that the people start returning soon as I never want to see Indian Summer go. If it did, Bedford would have lost its best Indian restaurant, and that would be a very sad day indeed.

Having moved into the area last week, we ordered a takeaway purely by chance from this restaurant. It was fantastic. It arrived hot, the dishes were full of flavour, and generally we were very happy with it.I had Chicken Balti, my other half had a Korai. Both were delicious. Pilau rice was properly cooked and not soggy or overly dry. Peshwari naan was perfect. On the strength of that first experience, we ordered again today - this time trying the Nawabi for a change. Again, it was great. The Nawabi tasted like the love-child of a Korma and a Passanda. We had two peshwari naan tonight - one was ever so slightly overdone but hardly worth noticing, and certainly didn't detract from the overall fabulous quality of the meal. We both happily recommend the food and we will be making a point of booking a visit to the actual restaurant once we have settled in.

Love this place. One of the best Indian restaurants we've eaten in.The service is good,,the quality of food is always good. We've had a few dietary issues over the few years we've been coming here, always taken into account and provided for.The restaurant is always clean, welcoming and pleasant to dine in.Takeaway is something we tend to get a bit more recently but always pretty good.Always a flavourful curry. Have eaten at a few others in Bedford and there's no Indian in Bedford id choose over indian summer.

very good restaurant, delicious food, very nice atmosphere, and the service very nice and helpful. I recommend this restaurant to everyone, because everyone will find something for themselves. I will definitely go back there soon

If you prefer a trendy, modern style Indian restaurant this place is worth a go. By my experience, the food was prepared to a very high standard. Tandoori meat was cooked perfectly. The staff were friendly, helpful and attentive. It lost a star because they added something extra on the bill that we didn’t order, and the food is a little pricier than average. We would definitely eat here again, though there is some good competition in the town!

I've been to many Indian restaurants in Bedford over the years, but none of them have consistently provided good food like Indian summer. I only order a Jalfrezi and rice when I visit which is always full of flavour, presented well and served generously. Really can't fault it. As for service, the staff are very friendly, professional and the restaurant is kept in great condition. It always looks modern and clean.Indian summer is Ideal for couples, the lone diner or even larger groups of people. Personally think it's the best curry house in Bedford. Highly recommended!
