Paul's Fish and Chips in Bedford

Had a Large mixed kebab. Really stunned at the portion size - i'd hate to have ordered the Small, if the Large was anything to go by.Chilli sauce was non- existant - im wondering if they forgot to put any on?? The ONLY plus point, was the chicken - nice and tender, but apart from that, it was an ruined evening meal.

When food finally arrived it was cold in the bag, called the restaurant and was told that the driver couldn't access the property as the gate was locked, this gate does not lock, rather than just take responsibility, make up lies to try and blame the customer, would never use again. Appalling service

My daughter ordered a takeaway - fish and chips for me and chicken shish kebab with salad for herself. It took over an hour to arrive (which she called and chased) and when it arrived the chicken kebab was dry and there was no salad. It definitely was not a shish. My daughter called back and the woman was very rude. The woman offered something else so my daughter chose a cod however after 20 mins it had still not arrived and the chips were now cold so she called back and asked for a refund which was denied. The woman had no customer service skills and was actually shouting at my daughter.I was very disappointed on her behalf as I have ordered from here before and the food has always been good. I won’t be ordering again just for the fact she was so rude.Maybe they should just stick to fish and chips in future.

Absolutely disgusting customer service, chicken was dry and did not send all items requested so I called the restaurant only to be shouted at consistently. Food and service is appalling, would NEVER eat from here again.

We stopped going here sometime ago as food was very greasy and not good at all. Been back recently after visitors bought some food and said how good it was. Have had fish and chips a few times now and have to say every time it's been great.

Generous portions, nice fish and chips. Not greasy like a lot of the competition in the area.

We were first time users of this fryer. The fish was very lightly battered, and was tasteless. The curry sauce was really curried water and the mushey peas looked and tasted like soup. The chips were good, tasty and well cooked. Service was good, but would not use again or recommend.

Hubby goes to get kiddy a chippy dinner, large sausage, small chips and small mushy peas. Comes to £4.80... tried charging hubby £6.80. When he questioned the price and asked to see the receipt, it CLEARLY said on the receipt £4.80, the staff in this fish and chip shop are BLATANTLY overcharging people for their own pockets. While waiting for the food hubby got chatting to the guy in front of him who was waiting also, who said they’d done the exact same thing to him, but tried charging him over £30 for a £22 food bill! Good little earner... shame it’s breaking the law! Definitely avoid in the future!

Its a good 🐟fish and chip 🍟shop and more besides, other hot foods and cold drinks don't no if they do hot drinks, recommended for a good takeaway.

The best chip shop around by far..love Paul's chip shop and been coming here since I was a kid xxx
