From other reviews, must have been a bad day. Lobster was rubbery, steak was only okay, fries were clearly reheated. Restaurant itself is just a rehash of the place before, even trade still trade as Riverside Grill. Clincher for me was staff eating their dinner at the kitchen service hatch.Again maybe a one off bad night, but at their prices I was expecting more.

Please follow and listen to the reviews, unlike myself who ignored them and still ate here Saturday night.Food was pretty good all round which is why I won't give it 1*. However, the calamari was undercooked which can cause food poisoning if consumed. I ate a few but couldn't touch the rest due to just how undercooked they were. We pointed this out to the waiter who sadly didn't seem to understand. In fact, most of the staff struggled with comprehending - we had to repeat our order a few times till they understood.We now have food poisoning from the calamari so I urge people to avoid this restaurant at all costs.

We had decided to dine out tonight as a family and decided to go to 'The Quay' after having previously had an enjoyable  dining experience there before covid. For my starter I ordered the calamari and crevettes, sautéed with cafe de paris butter sauce with chilli and sourdough bread. My starter was pleasant and the prawns were delicious, however the calamari was a little chewy indicating it had been slightly over cooked. My wife and son ordered the samosas which were accompanied with some tasty sides of chutney. They were tasty and flavoursome which both my wife and son enjoyed. I ordered the Calcutta Cod curry for my main course as I love fish. The cod was cooked perfectly and flaked off the skin in large white chunks. However in my opinion the curry just lacked depth of flavour which was disappointing.The service was polite and attentive without being too overbearing. My wife's steak burger was cooked precisely how she specified she wanted it, which was medium to well done. My son enjoyed his chicken burger which was cooked nicely, also and the portion size of chips which accompanied the burgers were certainly generous and tasty.Overall a postive experience however sadly some elements of the food left me slightly disappointed but this was not a disaster by any stretch of the imagination. Looking forward to our next visit.Great food and a pleasantatmosphere.

1st time we went I said I would get the lobster ext time as it looked so good when others ordered it. It did not disappoint both times have been great the food is just amazing ! And I'm REALLY! fussy!. This time we had the mixed grill to share, its for two but yoy could easily split that between fourI'm just lost for words really there is one let down which is the squid starter we had it both times and was over cooked both times really hard to eat which is a shame because that butter sauce it comes in is SO ! DELICIOUS.

Where do I start.The service was so slow drinks arrived in a timely manner but the starter took 40 minutes and the meal took 55 minutes to arrive keep in mind this was a Thursday evening and the restaurant was less than a quarter full.The chicken wings were burned I send them back. My friend ordered the seafood grill the fish tasted as it was off. To top it off we order wine but the server keep bringing out similar wines not the ones advertised on the menu which was highly frustrating as white wine and rose is not the same. This service needs to be vastly improved.

Visited on Saturday with our friends. One of few places that was opened at 3PM. We had a very good cod curry, lamb chops and fish/chips. All was very tasty and served in nice way. Good service. Will visit again.

Food is 10/10.... Best seafood restaurant I have eaten at in the UK.... however service was lacking. No check back, had to find staff and ask for more drinks, had to ask for dessert menu... which resulted in us being there 3.5 hours for meal (they then turned the lights off on us!!!)But as I said best food you will have....

I went to Quay this evening with a friend as I have not tried oysters and some of the other unique seafood before that is on the menu.The table was booked well in advance and the anticipation was at an all time high.I am giving this place two stars and breaking it down for everyone to explain it all accurately.1. The restaurant itself is small and the tables are too close to each other preventing the kind of privacy that people would like in such a setting.2. We were given an hour and a half at the table and we did not even have enough time to order a dessert. They did not tell us this until we were sat at the table which I consider misleading advertising as they should have told us when we booked it on the phone.3. The guys who took the orders and brought the food over could hardly speak or understand English.4. They charged nearly £4 pounds for a small bottle of coca cola in a small glass.5. I ordered the seafood platter and I will admit it was very nice and very filling.6. They tried to hit us with a seven pound service charge which I believe is them taking a liberty when you consider the points I made above. Thankfully I requested the removal of the service charge.I give this place two stars for the novelty of the tasty seafood but frankly I would not return to this establishment and neither would I recommend it to family and friends.

Beautiful restaurant. Has such a lovely experience. Steak was good. Wings were perfect. Cookie dough was delicious. Overall excellent food and ambiance.

We chose this restaurant for our anniversary celebration and it was a great choice! A very nicely decorated place with great food. I highly recommend cauliflower in sweet-chilli sauce and seafood. Very professional and friendly service. Thank you for an amazing evening.
