The Longholme Cafe in Bedford

Had a very nice lake side lunch with my cousin, had a bacon sandwich with a very tasty tomato-garlic spread, friendly service. Recommended.

Best coffee for miles and reasonable prices.... does get very busy, but worth the wait. Lucky if you can get a "front line" seat and look.... the swans have babies to oow at!

Fantastic cafe next to the river and boating lake in Bedford. Better than average food and drinks and great staff. Partially open air, with heaters if necessary. Can't recommend highly enough. PS Cakes are brill too

We always get the longhome hash but the menu has other bits we should definitely try another time. Longolme hash is a surefire winner. The manager is always friendly and chatty. The coffee is really good too.

Often a queue. Good variety of hot drinks and delicious gluten free chocolate brownie. Bit on the expensive side but with no competition the owners take full advantage. Would it recommend food as it takes too long and is overpriced.

This little outdoor restaurant is beautifully set up. Choose a table overlooking the boating lake (including some under cover for when it's wet), or in a tented area to the rear where each table has an individually controlled infra-red heater suspended above. Add a blanket from the pile, and you're all set - even on a cold, wet day.The menu is not what you might expect from a small outdoor eatery: it's much better! A good range of things to eat, from meals to snacks, and the coffee is really good, too. Staff are friendly. Wait at the entrance to be seated, and you'll be well looked after.Highly recommended.

My wife and I had breakfast for the first time this morning at the 'Longholme Cafe'. We were very impressed by the overall set up, with seating outside and in. They are definitely covid friendly, providing overhead patio heaters and blankets to keep you warm if you wish to use them. The service given was attentive and informal without being overbearing. I ordered the 'Longholme Hash' which was tasty and perfectly seasoned. My wife ordered the brioche bun with a free range egg and smoked bacon, which she enjoyed and said was very tasty. Having tried and been impressed with the overall package at the Longholme Cafe, we shall certainly return.

Lovely weekend breakfast spot. We were lucky to get a table and in a perfect spot.I've got a vegan panini with mushrooms and it was delicious. Coffee was great and I've thoroughly enjoyed it.The nice as usual, Covid19 precautions are adhered to, with social distancing, disinfection.
