The Park Pub and Kitchen in Bedford

Had lunch with some friends here this week. They had raved about it so imagine all our disappointment when the meal was awful. We ordered fish and chips, the fish was over battered and the batter inside was so soggy I picked the fish out of the batter and left it. The chips were barely warm. At least the flat white coffee was good. And the small pot of new peas was good too. Service was very slow, and although we’d booked a wheelchair accessible table the young server tried to seat us up on the raised section of the restaurant. And then seemed confused as to where else we could be seated although there was an accessible area that was empty (we HAD booked!) Perhaps that’s why we had to remind the bar staff we hadn’t had our meal after waiting half an hour after ordering; they’d literally forgotten we were there. Although I don’t live in Bedford so happily won’t return my friends who do live in Bedford are rethinking hosting a small party there in the future.

Awful experience, booked as a meal after our wedding, our friends came and put some balloons up before we got there just to make it a little more special and we were greeted by ‘so you have the table till 4.30’ and no point did anyone great us and say congratulations take a seat here are some menus can I get you some drinks?! We went outside for a drink, I popped back in as another member of our party arrived, to which we were met by another member of staff, with ‘ are you ready to order?’( nobody at the table) I replied no not yet!, to which the same thing was repeated, well we need the table back at 4.30! I have never felt so unwelcome and rushed ever. They mixed our food orders up, the waiter made us feel like we were a massive inconvenience to him and genuinely an overall uncomfortable experience. We had planned to have drinks at the bar after our meal but felt so uncomfortable that we left and went and had drinks elsewhere. Our wedding meal was not the memory I had wished to have had and no point did anyONE member of YOUR staff congratulate us or offer any personality to the occasion.

Good pub lovely surroundings. First time at this venue. Good choice off beers and ales.Ordered tomatoe and halloumi bruschetta for a starter. Bruschetta bread was so hard as to be brittle.Ordered lamb main which was finesteak main with peppercorn butter unfortunately peppercorn was unavailable so my wife had blue cheese insteadand i had moulles frittes.We all thoroughly enjoyed our meals. II would definitely return.

We were welcomed with open arms into the Park by Ramona and the team with four dogs on board. We were given water bowls and beds and the doggies were given lots of fuss treats. Really nice environment insidesFood was really delicious thank you. All six of us really enjoyed our meal, especially the make shift pigs in blankets. We would definitely come back again. Great food and atmosphere. Very friendly staff. I was just concerned about how crowded it was. But that's just an old geezer's thinking after 2 years of lockdown. No rules were being broken just me.

Wonderful food. Wonderful setting, Wonderful service. Would seriously recommend to anyone.

Friday night dinner for two.Ordered fish & chips - lovely batter; shredded Lamb Mint Confi - it was Lamb steak for the same price - cabbage and gravy delicious.Service - London prices without the quality of service. Staff were friendly when serving but should not talk about other tables on the floor, save it for the kitchen.Go for a drink by all means. Skip the restaurant - limited menu - delusions of grandeur.

Fantastic food and service. We had the flat iron steak, cooked to perfection as was the hamburger. The staff were so friendly and attentive. Will definitely book again. Highly recommend.

My wife and I eat here mid-week almost every week. This week I had the fillet steak which comes with wild mushrooms and a veal jus. I've eaten a lot of steaks in a lot of places including Michelin star restaurants, yet I can honestly say that this week the fillet I had here was one of the best I've ever eaten and the jus was absolutely delicious!The staff are really friendly and I'd highly recommend this place to anyone.Keep up the good work guys!

Nice atmosphere nice food and a vegan choice which is a bonus. Lovely garden on warm days. Very pleasant staff and reasonable priced food. Worth a visit if your passing.
