Visited on a Saturday and had the hog roast. The food was lovely, really reasonably priced and full of flavour and filled us up.We sat in the beer garden, there is a small stream which is lovely on a hot day. Will defently return as we want to try the Sunday Roast.

We visit quite regularly, usually sitting in the bar, but both the bar and restaurant are really nice. The menu changes regularly.

Despite being short staffed we were looked after well and served the most fabulous food. The tempura mushrooms were plentiful but definately left me wishing I had ordered more because they were so lovely. The chicken and stuffing was cooked beautifully and my son and I shared a portion of the chicken salted chips. We aren't blessed with small appetites but one portion of the chips was plentiful for both of us. We finished with a medley of the ice creams, my husband, son and myself along with our friend had the brownie sundae, the chocolate sorbet, the fig and mascapone ice cream and the salted almond ice cream. All of the flavours were there and it was wonderful. All in all the food was hot, tasty, cooked wonderfully. The service was prompt and done with a smile, and everyone was left happy, comfortably full and content.Highly recommended

We had a quick meal there this evening and really enjoyed the food!He had the kid goat cottage pie and I the creamed mash with celeriac schnitzel with mushroom sauce... We shared cavolo nero with garlic... It was so tasty and the perfect size portion. The bar was packed! I'm glad we ate in the restaurant, it was spotless and warm with a gorgeous log burner. Our waiter was friendly and politely attentive.

Always friendly, with really excellent food offered at very reasonable cost and made with quality ingredients. Keep an eye out for food specials, often with quality seafood. Real ales tend to be on the less strong side, typically 4 - 4.5%.

Absolutely amazing Sunday lunch at a surprisingly good price. Probably some of the best beef I have ever had. Very good quality wine selection too.

Excellent food and lovely beer. Really enjoyed the ribeye steak which was in a different style to what I normally have, but it was delicious. Very nice service and friendly owners. Thanks we'll be back π

Top, top pub. Excellent beer and cider selection, including good non-alcoholic drinks. Very reasonable prices for food, with our group ordering fish and chips, fried chicken and veggie burger - all more than satisfied. If I didn't have to watch Bedford lose, I would have stayed all afternoon. Likewise if I lived nearby I would be in everyday. Keep up the good work Tom and team.

Booked a table for a large group 12+ the food was absolutely fantastic! Very good price and perfectly cooked meat. We had Pork, Beef and Goat with roasties and fresh greens. The staff were kind, polite and indulged our interesting questions about the glug jugs. Will definitely be back again. Thank you very much!

A lockdown favourite of ours is Kebab night from The Sun. Generous helpings and delicious food. Offering a great service to the community in these challenging times. A benchmark for other pubs/restaurants to follow, going above and beyond to not only serve the community but seemingly thrive as well. Well done all involved at The Sun. ππ»ππ»
