Blue Strawberry Bistrot in Braintree

My wife and I came here for our 27th wedding anniversary on the back of a recommendation and we were not disappointed. Food, service and ambience were of the highest order, nothing was too much trouble for the staff and the food.... well, the chef's pie and the Beef Wellington were exceptional. The wine list was well balanced in terms of style and geography, something there for everyone, I'm sure.Prices were very reasonable for the quality on offer, and I have no doubt this will be a regular haunt for us in the future.

Stopped in to break up a long road trip, based on the strength of Google reviews. Really, very impressed. The staff are lovely, the setting is charming, the building is beautiful, the wine list is great (I wasn’t driving). The food is fantastic, and they cater brilliantly for gluten free folk like me (I’m celiac). Everything was incredibly prompt - what a gem of a place.

A really pretty and warm atmosphere, with our added benefit of being unexpectedly booked into a snug which gave it a private feel. Service was attentive, kind and helpful - couldn't fault it.Drinks menu is well rounded with lots of great choices for non-drinkers too which I always appreciate - the blackberry mocktail was a highlight.Food is well executed but not amazing. Given the prices I would expect something a cut above yet everything is just fine. The menu is a little dated and there are a lot of fish options which may or may not appeal to you. I personally really enjoyed the scallops and sea bass both of which were cooked excellently. Everything cooked very well but little to excite.A really enjoyable meal helped along by a lovely setting, but I'm not racing back for the food.

This is a genuine gem of a fine-dining restaurant. I was treated to an evening meal here by my in-laws, and we had a wonderful time. The food was absolutely brilliant, with a good selection to choose from, and there was a wide range of specialist drinks available from the bar. I will definitely be back here again to celebrate a special occasion.

A truly enjoyable experience. Food and drink was fantastic. The stuff were, friendly, efficient and funny. Truely faultless time at the Blue Strawberry.

Lovely venue, staff friendly and helpful. Reasonable choice of gluten free options (I have coeliac disease). Four stars instead of five because for dessert I ordered "pavlova" because I like the squidgy meringue of it. Also there is usually a balance of the meringue and cream/filling. This was a scooped out meringue shell and masses of cream. It wasn't a pavlova. I rarely eat desserts but I do like a proper pavlova. Rest of the food lovely and my friend enjoyed her grilled pineapple dessert.

Incredible food. Came here for our Christmas Meal and was more than just pleasantly surprised.Our host Koren was lovely, attentive and most of all welcoming. Will certainly be coming again!

Absolutely loved this place. It came highly recommended by friends and they did not disappoint. The staff were very friendly and attentive and really made you feel welcome, the food was amazing too and I left full to the brim after 3 courses! Will definitely be going back there again in the future.
