Staff very friendly and polite, unfortunately we were there when they were short staffed and training new chef. Although we had long waits for food we had be warn and accepted that. The starters were really lovely unfortunately the mains let them down completely, despite one if our group asking if the rich lamb gravy had red wine in it (told no) when the lamb arrived it had no gravy at all we were then told there wasn't any, about 19 minutes later a beef gravy was delivered to the table (the meal was to dry to eat without some sort of liquid) the beef gravy was overpowering and destroyed the lamb so much so nobody finished the meal. You need to either take things off the menu if you can't deliver the whole dish not compromise it with something that doesn't go.

Very lovely pub. Friendly staff. A nice and varied menu. Some good choices for everyone. Including a tasty vegan fish and chips option.

Came here today for Sunday lunch with family, staff were great, friendly and very quick to serve us, but whoever is cooking in the kitchen needs sacking!!!The roast dinner that was served to us was disgusting. The lamb looked like it came out of a packet, and had blatantly been microwaved. The roast potatoes looked liked they’d been out all day there was nothing left of them. The cauliflower cheese was just a congealed blob. Yorkshire pudding was completely flat! Nothing on the plate was at all appetising. Extremely disappointed with our choice of place to eat, we will not be eating here again.

It has been a few years since we last visited after two poor experiences back to back. I decided to give them another try on Mothers Day ad they had a menu my wife liked. After losing our online booking they manage to seat us with minimal delay, food was good considering they were brisk on Mothering Sunday, service was generally very good but drinks server was poor (drinks served without ice/straws for kids). Overall a good experience and will try again soon as this is very local for us.

Booked a table for 1pm, 7/5/22 arrived 10 minutes early and was shown to a table at the back of the restaurant and given menus.5 minutes later, a young man asked did we want a drink, which we ordered. The drinks arrived, shortly after. We had already chosen what we were going to eat and the menus were closed. At no point was the server ready to take our order. After being in the restaurant for over 20 minutes, I went to the bar area and informed another young man how long we had been waiting for service to which he replied he would be over straight away to take the order.Whilst ordering we were informed there were no chips, only fries. (Not a problem for me, but there’s jacket potatoes on the menu couldn’t someone make a real chip)Starter arrived Pate was ok.Mains arrived I had ordered steak and peppercorn sauce the sauce was not there so I had to ask.My husbands meal was the lamb hot pot pie with mash and veg, the mash and veg were hot but when he took the top of the pasty off of the pie the lamb was cold as if it had been defrosted in a microwave and forgotten to have been warmed up.Obviously this was sent back.By the time he had a new meal returned I had finished my meal. When my husband had finished his meal we waited again for someone to acknowledge that he had finished or even that we were still there. In the end we got up and asked for the bill which (Amy) was aware of the pie disaster and adjusted the bill by £3.74. I personally think the value of his meal should have been deducted after all of the bad experiences within one visit. Not happy with this experience and it turns out that the lady next to us had a similar thing with her meal.

Absolutely shocking service . Food arrived an hour late with no apology from the staff.Food was nice but spoiled by the poor management of service21/04 - thanks for responding. To be clear - food was requested to be ready at 8.15 as advised to one of our club members at the time of ordering. At no point we we advised there was only one chef. No apology was made when I enquired where the food was at 9pm & at no point when I ordered the food at 6.45pm was I advised to let you know we were back for food. I have eaten here before and not experienced this. I had an issue with the service, lack of communication and attitude . At no point were the staff sorry about the delay which is really disappointing. we were at a different pub on Tuesday night ( 19/04) and the staff were so accommodating with clear communication when we ordered . I strongly recommend that your staff improve their communication. If at any point had we had been advised only one chef was on and there might be a delay we would have been more understanding or made an informed decision whether to order food knowing there may be a delay.

Had a really lovely time at the Green Dragon. The pub has a really nice vibe with a large bar area that is dog friendly and a cosy restaurant that offers table service. Sian was polite, efficient and very welcoming. Food was yummy especially the desserts! Will defo go again.

Booked a table for 6 people, 7pm Saturday evening. 4 starters unavailable, 2 people then ordered the same starter to be told they only have one available...Main course two not available, 5 out of 6 main courses arrived, one delayed as the burnt it so had to start again, therefore cold main courses (Rude to start). 4 of us wanted chocolate brownies for dessert, None available. Eaton mess, was just ice cream and strawberries. Don't think we will return.. Less than average food..

Whilst the staff were lovely and friendly, the food certainly didn’t meet the previously high standard. The staff explained they were experiencing delivery issues so some dishes were not available, this also meant that the sea bass and scallop risotto didn’t come with prawns which was fine. However, what I received wasn’t a risotto, it was separate grains of rice with a little bit of flavour. The skin in the sea bass wasn't crispy, everything needed a very good grind of salt to give it some flavour, the whole dish was very underwhelming. My father had fish n chips, which he said was so tough that some bits were inedible and the vegetables had a very peculiar flavour. The lamb hot pot pie lacked flavour and was very greasy. The deserts however, were lovely. The evening was booked for a 50th birthday so we wanted a special meal, regrettably this was far from what we received. Chef must have been having a very bad day, a real shame.

This is a nice local pub, good decor and environment, but some of the food quality is sub-par unfortunately. Examples - the bangers are low quality, the pies are a little under-filled, and the sundaes are a disappointment- all icecream, cream and sauce, and no flair for the price. We are torn on whether we would rush back for food.
