Hare&Hounds in Braintree

Lovely place, food great, service good, overall lovely place to go. They also had live music that evening and it was great touch.

We had a really lovely lunch that was a bargain as there was filming going on. The lasagne was so nice. Great service a lovely atmosphere.

Came across this little gem yesterday and stopped for lunch. We had the chicken and chorizo sandwich which also came with chips. Bloody amazing flavours and it was absolutely delicious. The barman was so nice, welcoming and friendly. Lovely decor and outside seating area. Will definitely be returning for dinner and drinks. Thank you

Disappointing experience. Table for 6. Food was slow to come out once ordered. Some veg. undercooked, and given it was a long time coming you'd expect the food to be piping hot, but was not the case. They need to get the food out of the kitchen much quicker which would help with both issues relating to waiting time and food heat when served. Hope they get issues sorted before next visit and will check reviews before coming again.

We came here after a funeral, the food was excellent, the lady behind the bar was most helpful and attentive, thank you .

Just had family Sunday lunch. Couldn’t fault the food or the service. Catered for Vegetarian members of the family too! We will certainly be back very soon!

We went back to this pub on New Year's eve after not having been there for a while. It wasn't very busy as it has been in the past. We got to know some new people which was nice. We were also included in the singing, dancing and choosing songs to sing and dance to.We had a lovely meal which l couldn't eat all of it. Saw the New Year in and stayed to the wee small hours. Very pleasant.

Staff were pleasant and welcoming but struggled to keep up with needs of the table. Had to go to bar to request more drinks several times and they forgot three of our main meals. Deserts were disappointing, brownie sundae was more like a small bowl of ice cream with chocolate chips. I should add we were the only group in the restaurant.

Had a lovely time here on Sunday for my daughter's 30th Birthday. Fantastic food and managed to get in at a moments notice. The place looks great after its renovation works. Will definitely be back.

An admirable display of bar tendering from our (unusually) solo host. An unexpected party of 50 + (number, not age) arrived and were served in smooth and quick succession - with small group & individual drinks orders...some with sides of fries. And he still managed to keep the already seated visitors from going thirsty too. Well done Andre. Impressive work.
