Henny Swan in Braintree

First time coming here, beautiful setting and location. From drinking their beer you could tell it had been kept and conditioned very well. Came for a meal for 1, and everything was great. Had a mushroom Stilton risotto which looked and tasted amazing. Service was very chilled yet attentive. I will be coming back here, and I beg you try this place too!

Beautiful situation on the river. Lovely garden. Good food. Friendly service. Toilets could have done with a clean but it was busy so they were being used a lot.

A special thanks to Tracie and all the others for a wonderful meal last night! We were a very big party of almost 40 and had an amazing meal, my venison in particular was scrumptious! Everyone had great meals with superb service, thank you all again!!

It was delightful...the setting is quite unlike a lot of places in that the restaurant offers a lot of opportunities to make your dining experience with friends more private, with almost completely separate areas. We visited to celebrate a friends 40th birthday with five noisy kids between us.The staff where especially friendly and accommodating which is exactly what we needed in these current times. I look forwards to going back as we all do.

Good Lunch with Friends here last Tuesday. Ladies serving were pleasant and Friendly. Its a lovely place to go and People Watch out by the River.Two of us had the Pork and it was so Tasty.It's not just the Food but the whole experience and its certainly worth a visit.

Wonderful find on Google map search. Booked for lunch on the way home to South Essex after a stay in Bury St Edmunds. Lovely location by the river. The staff were very friendly and attentive. Sunday lunch was served piping hot and with only a short wait. The food was absolutely delicious and plentiful. Roast beef and roast lamb were equally tasty. The tables are safely spaced out so we felt safe and comfortable. We will be back to visit.

The food was delicious and the staff engaging and friendly. Had great dedicated seating for dog owners and supplied a large water bowl. We ate in, but i can imagine that on a beautiful sunny day, it would be lovely to be outside by the river. I highly recommend this establishment and intend to visit again when in the area.

Nice, cozy place to enjoy countryside, water and few good beer and food in scenery.Not overcrowded, for restaurant you nedd to book in advance as space fill up quickly and the same rules apply for beer place.They have spot for teaching paddling and rent the equipment.
