Manze's in Braintree

Very nice pie and mash ,set in old fashion building,Dickensian maybe not sure very . Very nice though.

Although we had to wait 10 minutes it wasn't a problem. Food lovely !

Really lovely friendly people, I've never had such an awful plate of food for a pie and mash, I don't know what the meat was but was more like a paste, the pastry was really thin the moment the liquor went over it all fell apart, the mash and liquor missed loads of seasoning, I won't be returning to this shop, I would of given no stars but the ladies where absolutely lovely and friendly, shop was really clean as well, jus this time didn't meet my standards of a good London east end pie &mash meal.....was hoping to have found one like home but nearer to where I live now but still on the search ....... Good luck ladies.

I am from North London but live in Germany. This was my first Pie and Mash in 2 years thanks to covid and how nice it was too my mum is a cockney and grew up on Manzes in Walthamstow and they didnt disappoint here in Braintree. Fod was delicious and the service was proper friendly and the lady working there was fantastic. If you like Pie and Mash this is a good one!

Lovely friendly lady... happy to help with free parking for quick pick up... Mash sizes was exceptional. Pies brill and liquor spot on.A must for any fans of old school pie mash and liquor.

Well I'm glad I've finally tried, the meal starts off nice until you realise that the food is very bland and you end up over seasoning just to finish it. As a specialist in this food you would expect a premium pie but these taste more like economy which is a serious let down, plus I found the pasty underneath to be under cooked. The mash seams to have had milk added to it and possibly overcooked as had no real potato flavour, ten years as a chef I was very gutted with the overall experience. I will try again in a month or so.

This is one of my favourite Pie & Mash shops and run by lovely friendly people. A++++++++
