Oaklands Inn in Braintree

Always a good meal but sadly this time food was a lot down dont bother with the chicken and Steak Combo hardly any chicken and Steak uneadable so they tried again second time got worse hardly cooked swimming in blood chef clearly can't do Steak as ordered and small bit you get hardly worth it. Not value for money. Shame as all other meals were good.

Great food, very good menu, welcoming staff ,nice atmosphere

Never had a bad meal at The Prince Louis, the food is tasty, reasonably priced and the service attentive and friendly. Would recommend to friends and family for a lunch or dinner evening out, the place is decorated with old singer sewing machines which I think is such a lovely touch!

Dined here today, my first time, had a stake meal asked for medium but got very bloody one , all of my food apart from chips was cold, never got any attention from the waitresses on leaving never got a good by!!!!!Won't be backHaving two dogs in the restaurant wow could not believe it

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our waitress looked after us very well and was attentive without being intrusive. Food was excellent and very good value. Will definitely come again.

We decided to have our Sunday lunch at the Prince Louis today and although the staff were very friendly and the food was good, I do have a minor axe to grind. We ordered a side of pigs in blankets and that side consists of 2 pigs that only had three quarters of a blanket on and that side cost £2.50. I do understand that after Covid the restaurant industry is trying hard to recoup its losses but 2 tiny sausages with what looked like a quarter of a rasher of bacon round it for £2.50 seems (shall we say) stingy. Had the menu specified 2 per portion I wouldn’t have order it.

Buffalo chicken wings. OH MY GOD! Its a shake they don't do it as a main, I have to order 2 portions, and unfortunately the buttermilk sauce was not available. The service is pretty good, patchy at times but I'll keep coming back. Oh by the way, WAFFLES YUM TOO!!!!

A below average meal that was mostly bland. The sticky chicken wasn't sticky but chewy and the rest of the meals are nothing to write home about. Even though all 5 guests had a different meal each had the same response. Staff seemed uninterested in opinions of poor meals either. There are far better eating establishments near here that are far superior. This used to be the go to place prior to the lockdown and maybe this is one that should have stayed shut. Food with no soul being prepared with staff of the same ilk. If this was a school report it's we know you're capable of better so keep trying....

Came here for mine and my partners one year anniversary, just wow the service and the food was second to none. The staff were very helpful and efficient and the food just blew our minds! Fairly priced and very good portions, left feeling happy with a full stomach will definitely be returning again. Makes me glad to see actual establishments like this that wish to provide a good service and nice food not just rip you off and serve rubbish. 10/10 here!
