Out of this world! We had a fantastic meal at Omar’s everything was spot on couldn’t fault any of it.We have eaten in a lot of Indian restaurants and this is definitely the best we have experienced.Owner very attentive and polite.A great all round dining experience can’t wait to go back.

Absolutely awful service , first time trying this restaurant and I have to say never again .. ordered via their website, so I could see progress , no update the order took over 1hr &30 minutes to arrive when it arrived it was not in a hot bag it was given in a greasey cold carrier bag all the cold salads and sauces were dumped on the top of what was ment to be hot food .. the poppadoms were soft the salad was grey and just over all a waste of almost £50 ...

Food portions were big but unfortunately we must have caught them on a off day as the food was cold, the delivery took nearly 2 hours to arrive and they never bothered to pick up the phone! Will not try this place again!

Well what can I say. Me and my partner moved to Hatfield Peverel on 23/12/2021. And after talking to a local man he suggested that we try omars tandoori. As it was the best around. So tonight on a whim we ordered our food and waited a short amount of time and got our takeaway food. The food was still very hot when dishing up. And oh my the food was out of this world. This has to be the best Indian I've had ever. So full of flavour and such big portions. The owner was saying how they have been here for 20 + years and I'm not surprised with how good it is.Thank you so much for the lovely food.

Always a pleasure to visit Omars! Not been there for a while, too long in fact, but son down from Manchester and so special occasion. If you're near Harfield Peverel give it a go you won't be sorry. But do book as very small 6 tables? Or try the take away . . .

Placed an order tonight at 18.00. Told delivery would be approx hour and 20 mins. Chased order at 19.45. Told delivery would be at 20.00! Still no delivery at 20.30. Called again...apologised for the delay. Could be 21.00 before delivery arrived. Explained this wasn’t the first time we had been misled on a delivery time and said we’d only pay £20 if it ever arrived. They wanted £25. Told them to forget it. Within 5 minutes the delivery driver arrived and said he would accept £20 which we paid. After all this......a meal which should have cost £46.00 was 3 hours late and when we served up was completely the wrong order........enough said! Won’t be using them again!

Can't fathom other reviews - this place was terrible, and not just them having a bad day.The only decent things: the rendang was ok, although I don't recognise the flavours as a rendang I've had before (it's not meant to be saucy). The lime pickle was fine, just like out of a jar. The popadams were fine. The onion bahjis were good. The bad, though.Their chicken and prawn pakoras simply weren't pakoras - they had used dried breadcrumbs from a pack and deep fried them to death. Pakoras are a batter, not a breadcrumb. £6.50 for the prawn ones is shocking value. Shocking. The Korma had no discernible taste. Both the korma and the sag paneer just tasted like the core ingredients with cream thrown on top. Really unpleasant. The daal masala was watery, and with little flavour.Even the rice had a washed out flavour that we wound up throwing away.Fundamental mistakes that have angered us, after spending so much money hoping to enjoy leftovers during the week.

Our 3rd takeaway from omars, first 2 were exceptional but this one was very disappointing. My chicken korma had no flavour, no colour, very bland. My partners chicken tikka biriani, did not look fresh and was tasteless, the naan was doughy and far too thick. Let's hope this was a one off. Also our food arrived an hour before scheduled... If we were at work this would have been very annoying.
