Well, let’s start with the setting, beautiful stunning And picturesque.Booked a table for 14.30 today 3/6/2022 arrived a few minutes early and was taken to a table and was asked if this was ok.Ordered drinks they arrived. Asked if we were ready to order, to which we replied we were.On ordering we were a little shocked that there was no pen/paper or iPad ordering System, and thought to ourselves ‘blimey how was our order going to come out’.Anyway!!I ordered steak medium to well done my husband the ribs and my son burger no lettuce.OMG!!Every part of our order was perfect, my steak as you can see from the photo was perfectly cooked, thank you chef. No lettuce in the burger, thank you kitchen staff. But I must say on behalf of all 3 of us, thank you to our waitress for getting the order out correctly and we believe her name to be Nancy. Once again thank you. Also, the ambiance of the place was buzzing, will certainly recommend and return x

Not a bad little restaurant at all. They have a good vegan and vegetarian selection. The staff were very friendly and good at their job, customer service is what you'd hope for.I was pleasantly surprised with the bill. 7 people 2-3 course meals with drinks on top, soft and strong. £270. You cannot grumble at that for an evening out.

A lovely and cosy pub that we visited whilst seeing family. There was a lovely atmosphere, stunning decor and overall great vibes. We didn't seat in the restaurant area or try the food but I'm sure it would be great. However where we had sat was so comfortable and nice.I wish this was my local pub, I'd never leave

This place is stunning! Such a beautiful place and wonderful food! We were so impressed by the quality and freshness of everything we ordered. We will definitely be back!

The atmosphere was really relaxed. Our waiter was lovely, the food came out in about 20 minutes even though it was packed and it was lovely. Will definitely be going back .

Went for a family lunch as a party of six. They were busy. However, service was exceptionally slow. Ordered a main meal only at 14:07 and the food arrived at the table at 15:10. (We asked twice when our food would be at the table). I had the three meat roast. Meat portions was not generous. The gammon was rock hard. Our roast potatoes were so overcooked they were black! These were quickly exchanged with two bowels of fresh roast potatoes. But honestly what type of staff do they employ that would have the mindset to allow such food out of their kitchen? Plates were cold and the Yorkshire puddings were cold and dry. All in all very disappointing.Table staff were slow to clear the table after the main course. We had to remind them twice. Two of our party ordered a knickerbocker glory for dessert. These also took about 30 minutes to arrive without spoons. When we asked for spoons, normal dessert spoons were brought to the table. We needed to explain the type of spoon required to reach the bottom of the glass. Ten minutes later the correct spoons arrived.Generally, the issues we experienced were due to untrained, no doubt casual staff. Most seemed under 20 years. They showed little aptitude in their work. I can only imagine the chaos in the kitchen!Nice enough ambiance and decor but really let down by the staff. I could not recommend dining here due to our poor overall experience.Update to above review.Good to see the response from management, and I hope some actions will be taken to improve the quality issues I found. I've improved my overall score to 3 stars as I appreciate a detailed response from the venue management.

Never had a bad meal at The Prince Louis, the food is tasty, reasonably priced and the service attentive and friendly. Would recommend to friends and family for a lunch or dinner evening out, the place is decorated with old singer sewing machines which I think is such a lovely touch!

Staff were very welcoming and helpful. Our waitress looked after us very well and was attentive without being intrusive. Food was excellent and very good value. Will definitely come again.

A below average meal that was mostly bland. The sticky chicken wasn't sticky but chewy and the rest of the meals are nothing to write home about. Even though all 5 guests had a different meal each had the same response. Staff seemed uninterested in opinions of poor meals either. There are far better eating establishments near here that are far superior. This used to be the go to place prior to the lockdown and maybe this is one that should have stayed shut. Food with no soul being prepared with staff of the same ilk. If this was a school report it's we know you're capable of better so keep trying....
